My battery has about four cracks on the negative pole (original). I am thinking about going to Sears, buy one and replacing it myself. What precaution should I take? Does Sears' battery fit perfectly in a 96 LS? Should I go to a Toyota dealer? Size? Etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a number of aligments done by dealer and by non dealer...I haven't had one that's done right the first time yet . They always seem to miss something. The most annoying thing is, they don't center your steering wheel for you And of course wasting your time to bring it back. Luckly I have not had to do one on my LS....

Todd....awesome looking wheels....keep a couple of sand bags in the trunk would help lower your car.

You can't find any LS in junk yard 'cause most of you still have it in your garage...Why can't they make LS like they make Yugo or VW?

Drool....it happen to my wife's VW last week....I just left it there (hate the damn thing )....she drove it in the rain and now it is almost gone...I also wax it about a month before this happen (she make me )

<_< Thewzdoc....not sure if I agree with you there.....the pressue listed on the tire is recommend for the tire by the tire manufacture....car owner should go with what is recommend by the auto maker not the tire manufacture. Please correct me if I am wrong....

Currently I am getting about 18 or 19 mpg, mostly city driving (Cols. OH) on my 96 LS400. I am pretty easy on the gas when I am driving......not sure about highway tho....will get an average when I head to Toronto sometime this month... It may help if you have the correct tire pressure...I am sure you all know that....

Evening VMF, can you give more information on your HID.....I have a 96 LS 400 that I would like to have them install.....Where and how much etc? Thanks for the advise.

Just had a major maint., timing belt, fan belt, plugs, tie rod (was told by dealer it is a wearable parts) and air filter were replace about a month ago. Not sure about fuel filter or average mileage tho. I will keep my eyes on it.... My front break pads are at about 20%....I have exprience replacing pads on my Integra and Honda Accords....How hard it is to replace on the LS400? Any idea of parts cost and where I can get them other then the dealer? How about the wear indicator? Thanks for all replies....

Hello Everybody.....my 96 LS 400 has a little over 70K miles on it.....has always been service at the dealer....recently I notice that in the morning (when engine is cold) I need at least two cranks before the engine start....my 91 Integra which has over 175K need only one crank to start the engine....any idea? Fuel additive?

Damn.....my local dealer want $349.00 for just the mirror.....I am going to look for a junk yard now....

It's behind the mirror...I think. I believe it has something to do with the Auto-dimming inside of the mirror.....It look like when you push down on an LCD screen, the chemical inside of the LCD get all over under the glass....

Good day all.....My '96 LS400's outside power mirror has become discolor....anyone know why? How much would it cost to replace it? Where can I purchase the part and how hard is it to do it? Thanks for all your replies.....

Hey Pal, The tire pressure for my 96 LS400 is locate in the glove box...check yours. Good luck.

Hello all, My first posting here. I have a '96 LS 400. Currently I have a remote and a key. I was just wondering if I can get a key made with the remote unite as part of the key like a '03 RX330's key? Please advise.
