  1. i'm a little confused as to what you mean by "milky" what color is the oil suppose to look? i have an amber color/brown/black color...
  2. yup, that's what i heard, but the probability is so slim because usually the gas isn't concentrated enough
  3. Yeah, I forgot what the problem was, but I think it had something to do with a bolt...... this car has been hell for me o.o but i love it when it works =)
  4. Hey guys, I fixed my car problem(faulty battery - was only putting 3volts out!). Anyways, I noticed something while starting the car...(it's about 20degrees here) but I see a lot of white exhaust from my muffler, was just wondering if this is normal
  5. sometimes it doesn't click, it sort of chirps..... I may have to remove the battery and take it to autozone... do i just remove the little nuts that hold onto the clamp?
  6. hrmm, it's clicking, but my headlight is also very dim
  7. What are the signs that you have a faulty starter? My car is currently dead and I can't jump start it(using one of those battery packs) for the life of me....
  8. the thing that if you unscrew has coolant?
  9. Hey guys, been a while since I've posted, but I got a quick question about jump starting. So, as I just found out, a lot of people have misconceptions about jump starting and the #1 issue I have noticed is that a lot of people(including me!) put the black/negative terminal on the negative terminal of the dead battery. However, fromwhat I have read this is a no-no. So, I have a picture here and was wondering where is a good source to put my negative terminal on for a 92 LS 400?
  10. When you say the unit, what do you mean by that? The boot the slider pin goes into and etc;?
  11. Anyone know where I can get the rubber rings for the slider pins? Or do I need to buy new slider pins all together?
  12. but i want something internal and Im not sure how to connect a DVD without an IDE port lol
  13. Since Im doing the fron left tire... where does the slider pin with the indentions on the rubber go? towards the front of the car or in the rubber housing area closer towards the back of the car? ( i didn't notice a difference between the slider pins and I dont get what lexls.com is saying)
  14. Hey guys, I'm thinking about building a new computer; however, some of these new motherboards are interesting. Take a look at this board. It has plenty of SATA drives for a HD, but it doesn't have an IDE port for a DVD-RW drive and I'm not sure how I would connect a DVD-RW drive
  15. Ahh.... ok, I decided to do the slider pins myself (sorry for all the questions and constant requestioning). The slider pins were a little sticky, but I just took a towel and sprayed a little wd-40 to remove all that gooey stuff, then let it air dry and reapplied some brake grease. When I went to install it, I pushed both of the pins in as far as possible and pulled the boot over that little elevated area( i hope that's how you isntall it ) and then just tightened the piston assembly back onto the unit.
  16. alright... so what is most likely the problem that is causing the squealing since it doesn't start until 10 minutes after driving(no squealing during the braking + driving period of 10 minutes).
  17. eh.... is there a tutorial for this cause I'm not sure what a slider is -_-
  18. Alright, but what does lubing the bolts do?
  19. So if the pad on the outside is wearing faster, that wouldn't be the cause of squealing?
  20. Hey guys, I changed my front rotors + brakes, but there is this problem that persists. My front brakes squeal(no shims) when I'm driving, even when I don't press the brake. It doesn't start squealing until 10-15 minutes into driving and it'll squeal without me pressing the brakes at all... I've oiled/greased the clips and when I checked the brakes, it looked like there was uneven wear on JUST one side of ONE pad(the outside pad). Any suggestions? I hope i don't have to overhaul the boots
  21. I got my rotors from R1Concepts (ebay store) and they are really reliable. It took about a week to get my parts, but I went with the OEM fr + rear rotor that cost about $120 with shipping. I didn't buy the pads there b/c i wanted axxis pads.
  22. I took about 6 AP classes in my high school career(which ended this year) and the rigor of each class ranged from teacher to teacher. I would HIGHLY recommend taking AP classes + Honor classes because colleges DO look at the rigor of your secondary education. For instance, when I applied to UCLA + Berkeley, they asked me what classes I took all 4 years, and if they were either IB, AP, or Honor courses. Also, I disagree with 93LS on the fact that most students lose points on the essays. The multiple choice is actually the hardest part of the exam and depending on which test, it either accounts for more or equal to your essay. The essay portion is where I believe you have the biggest chance of making points because you do not get penalized for being wrong or going stray. Mention anything and everything that relates to the topic. This year when I took the U.S. History exam, I thought I may have been in trouble with one of the essay questions since I felt like I didn't mention too much about how the 1920's era in idiology differed from that of the 1900s-20s but I still ended up with a 5. Also, when preparing for the AP exam, it is a great idea to go buy a Cliff's Notes AP Review book or something along that line (a basic review of what will be on the exam). Lastly, STUDY HARD FOR YOUR ACT/SAT BECAUSE THEY ARE A LARGE DETERMINING FACTOR IN ACCEPTANCE/REJECTION, ALONG WITH RECOMMENDATIONS AND ESSAYS!!!
  23. good luck... wish i was more help !
  24. I highly doubt this may be the case, but it can also be a simple solution... are your tires in good quality? Also, maybe the tire wasn't put on right (as in the star-shape tightening of the lugnuts). If this were the case, not only would the front end shake though. I remember coming back from a mech a long time ago and he didn't put my wheel on right and it would shake and by refitting my tire it fixed the problem. Have you
  25. Well, I replaced my rotors & brake pads, but was missing shims on the front pads.... can i just spray some of that anti-squel stuff instead of buying a new shim>
