Insulted On Trade In Value
LEXIRX330 replied to bobstoc's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Yes, you're going from most reliable to least reliable <_< Ford and chevy are the worst cars you can buy. I concur. YOU THINK! Fixed Or Repaired Daily Found On Road Dead Had Mustang Tranny went up in no time. Yes I drove it HARD...Had a Ranger (problems...problems...) and a Probe when I was 16 that was not much better. HAD 3 that's enough for me. Have had great luck with Toyota's and resale is great. I have told my wife that my old97 Jeep (have spent quite a bit on that too!) will be the last American made Vehicle that I own...unless things really change. B) -
:P Thank you. I have finally been able to bypass the Navigational Override. I had tried both methods below and just could not get it to work on my 2004 RX330. After reading this post again http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...topic=11148&hl= , and seeing that it seems to work on other 04's, I figured it must be something that I am doing wrong. On the newer systems 05 and up, you can hit the corners quick, when I did the same thing on mine I got nothing. I tried doing the method by going into the DVD VER screen below and touched corners slowly and guess what it actually took me into the OVERRIDE Screen. THANK GOD. This is great. It is not that I want to enter directions while I am driving, but I just hate the fact that it was something that I could not DO...Now that I can override the system I will probabbly never do it agian. But if I want to then I CAN...Not sure if you understand?? ;) Anyway I just want to thank everyone for all of the help! I'm sure everyone else has already learned the bypass but if you have not look at the info below it is from a post by LexTacoma, check it out!!! LexTacoma Dec 20 2005, 11:37 AM Post #12 New Club Member Group: Members Posts: 18 Joined: 16-November 05 From: Tacoma, WA Member No.: 21,650 Car Model:2005 Hyundai Accent Location:Tacoma There are two different methods to over-ride the driving safety feature dependant upon which version of the navigation you have. I currently can't remember which is which, but try both methods and one should work, if not, go into your dvd menu and tell me which nav version you have and ill see if i can figure it out. Method 1: Get into your sound menu press top left press bottom left press top left press bottom left Method 2: Navigate to your dvd information screen (where you can see which version you have) Press top left press bottom left press top left press bottom left press bottom right this should bring you into the service menu, press and hold the override button for a few seconds and let go, it should change in color confirming the nav override. Hit back to return to main menu. This is not a permanent override and must be done everytime you start the car. Keep in mind this will not enable phone dialing while in motion, only the navigation system.

Dave- If that is true than why does the owner's manual for my RX330 says to use 87 octane or higher? It does say that higher octane may improve the performance. But it does not say that 92 is recomended...

what verison do you have and what method do you use??? Thanks

98 Gs300 Power Lock Problems
LEXIRX330 replied to dpark's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
I have taken off the door panel of my JEEP before to fix a similar problem. I am not so sure that I would try it with the Lexus but... If you take off the door panel, it may be just a piece of plastic that has broken off of the lock mechanism. If that's the case I am pretty sure that you can get the part cheaper than $1200. Putting the door back together should not be too difficult I guess. I would try to take it apart 1st before I paid that kind of money. Did they take it apart or are they just giving you a off the top of the head price??? -
I had a 2003 Camry...just sold it 6 months ago...loved it I had the XLE was not a stick... Have had great luck with Toyota's...Nice Car!

Taking Delivery On Is250 Friday
LEXIRX330 replied to RonandKay's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Check out this calculator... http://partners.leadfusion.com/tools/nasafcu/auto08/tool.fcs Put your rates in and see. Also GAP insurance will pay the difference that you owe on your car if your car was totaled. Lets say that you owe 3000 more on the car than what your insurance company is willing to allow, than gap insurance will pay the 3000. Simply you are protecting your self from owing $$$ on a car that is totaled. In my opinion if you are putting enough $$$ down I would not consider buying GAP insurance (waist of money). Hope that this helps...good luck -
TRY TAKING THE KEY AND PUTTING IT IN HOT CANDLE WAX. After the wax is dry on the key put it in. I have a 1997 Jeep and this trick worked for me. It also works on home doors too. Just clean excess wax off of your key after you do this.

Where Can I Put A Magnetic Hide-a-key
LEXIRX330 replied to cmhayesmike's topic in 92 - 06 Lexus ES250/300/330
:chairshot: Glad you guys want to put a hide a key on your car. I would just invest into a motor club membership for $60-$70 / year, (they have lockout service). I don't think that I will hide a key on my LEXUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
THATS why my insurance is so high. Im high rick yes, but if this ins, co drops me, i will fight that, because i knwo several people with multiple DUI's who still have insurance with USAA. as for other tickets, I have never had one for speeding that went on my record. the one i did get was almost 5 years ago. I don't think that you are in danger of getting dropped... DL issue may be another story but since you are with USAA and are in Military I don't think it will be a problem. Your rate is high for the exact reasons that you said... sports car and full cov and young driver. In MD, VA, DE magic # is 25, 21 does help... I do not know what ded. that you have on your policy but carry the highest ones that your finance company will allow, at least on your collision. Comp will not save you that much money. Most of the time it is a 1000 dollar ded. is the most that you can carry. For everyone that thinks that your company will not raise your rate for one ticket...you are wrong...The fact is that most companies do not pull MVR's except at new business. That is why your rate has not gone up they do not know about the ticket... LEXI- I may be looking for new insurance soon, PM me your contact info if you don't mind. Visit our Agency Web site it is www.yourinsurancequote.net Will be glad to see if I can save you some money.

Not sure if you can but see if you can get PBJ (Probation before Judgment) I am a insurance agent and we recommend to all of our insured's if they get a ticket to take it to court. Just be honest and tell the judge that you do not want the ticket on your driving record. Most of the time the way PBJ works...you get 3-6 months Probation and if you do not get another ticket the 1st one does not ever go on your record. Trust me you do not want that ticket on your record. We write for 8 insurance companies and in MD tickets show up for 3 years. I am licensed in MD, DE, and VA some states work different...VA you have to take a defensive drivers course...not sure about DE (just don't speed there) By the way I would never get a lawyer for a speeding ticket... I have had 3 that I have went to court on 2 MD 1 VA never had a problem...GOOD LUCK!!!

That would be great... I don't get it. I can get it to work on the 06 as I said above and have heard it works on other 04's, but it will not work on mine. Any help would be appreciated.

CPO is the way to go... I just bought a 2004 RX330, sticker when it was new was 47,000. Nav, and DVD in REAR, AWD and just about everything else you can get. The dealership had just got this one back off of a lease, asking 36,900. I got the price down to 31,000...took 5 days but I think that it was well worth it. So what I have a 2-3 year old car with 45,000 on it, I still have a 3 year up to 100,000 mile warranty... I'm happy! GO WITH THE CPO unless you just need to spend money $$$$. GOOD LUCK!

I have just tried both, Method 1 and Method 2. Neither works for me... I have VER.02.1 Thanks

OK- I have a 2004 RX330 in the when I go into the DVD Menu and then try it it still will not let me in the setup for the override... not sure what I am doing wrong???

Program Nav System While Driving
LEXIRX330 replied to capt nemo's topic in Audio / Video / Electronics Forums
Hi is this only for the 2005 RX and up or will it work for the 04 too! Thanks... ← I understand the legal ramifications for Lexus and our litigious society and those that seek to gain by the system Your reply was appreciated. I don't believe the RX 3330, 2005 has a gyro or other devises to termanate the program. There are other things trhat may be accomplished while driving I,E., info system.climate. etc. The question is still out there "Does the Data Link line carry the VSS signal?" If it does, I feel that placing a switch in series will work fine. What I would really like to know is what data is carried on that link, or is it a new name for the VSS? To the person that ask for the drawings, I don't have them. I have seen them and I can assure you that the Data Link is a direct connection to pin 7 on the multi-display (screen) Ifyou need to check the drawing personally , that reference will surfice at the dealership. Any one on the techs will pull it up for you. ←
