  1. Hey guys I just hit 90,000 miles and wanted to change my timing belt, water pump, drive belts, cam seals and crank seals. How much do you think I am looking at if I go to Toyota to have the work done. Also does Toyota give u loaners with such a big maintence job cause I work alot and need a car if they have to keep it for a couple of days.
  2. Well the nosie only happens when Im not braking its when Im actually driving.
  3. Heys guys I just replace my rear brakes with Genuine pads and now when I drive at lower speeds I hear a grinding noise, I dont know if the pads are to thick or if I did something wrong but something isnt right for sure. So if anyone has any ideas what it could be please post. Thanks
  4. Hey guys thinking about replacing my inner tie rods and wanted some advice as to what manufacture to go with Toyota or is there another manuafacture that makes good quality tie rods as well.
  5. Whats the benefit to the Whiteline products? Is it better than what I have on now? What difference would I notice from there products?
  6. I would start looking for another car.(Lexus ES 350)
  7. Cool. Do you mean this circuit board under neath the white plastic backing as the "top board" Pretty certain this is what you mean but just want a confirmation if possible. Thanks a lot. Exactly pull that off very carefully and put it in the other cluster and its your current mileage
  8. Your going to have to remove the top board from behind the cluster and swap it with yours so u can have the accurate miles.
  9. Im going to change my oil tomorrow should put in a whole bottle before I change the oil?
  10. Heys guy did my first seafoam treatment today and what a difference on throttle pick-up, now when I hit the gas pedal the car has more pick-up. I also put some seafoam in my gas tank and hope that helps as well. But so far Seafoam looks like a very good product that I can recommend to any automobile owner, PERIOD!
  11. What about the air conditioner, it takes away power from the engine when its on would the higher amp alternator eliminate that?
  12. a higher output alternator is more than capable to handle increased loads placed on it by the addition of things like an electric fan, high output ignitions, and stand alone engine controllers. A new alternator is almost a critical addition once you enter the realm of high output stereo systems also. Stand alone engine controllers like the compressor when its on wont take power away from the engine is that what this mean? Also a 2001-2003 Toyota Highlander alternator will bolt right on to a 94-2001 ES300 and its a 130 amp alternator.
  13. Hey guys I was on ebay the other night and I came upon a 160 amp alternator for our ES300 from 97-2001 years. I was wondering what would be the benefit to having a higher amp alternator? If any.
  14. I just installed new spark plugs and I wanted to do a seafoam treatment to my intake and I was wondering if it will foul my plugs and do I have to replace O2 sensors or will I just be fine. Also will I notice a difference in power or response when I do this?
  15. Take it to a Toyota dealership that works on Lexus, not only are they faster, they are also alot cheaper as well for the same service.
  16. hello. i'm thinking the one on the right (2nd one), i have a 98 es300 and i have the wood grain by the power windows. i've liked what you've done with the steering wheel. my wheel is all one piece/one color, and i've noticed that the top of the it is starting to get old and crack. i'd like to replace or maybe do the same kind of mod you did. was it difficult? Extremely easy
  17. Alright guys I have two wood samples here and tell me which one you think will match better with the interior of my car with the new steering wheel.
  18. Well its a 2001 ES300 steering wheel with the woodgrain and a 1997 Lexus ES300 airbag cause its the only airbag that would work with my airbag system and wouldnt give me a airbag light warning. So if anyone wants to try this mod its a selective one and its pretty hard to find a 1997 ES300 airbag in BLACK. Now the airbag clips right on with the 96 sensors perfectly. The wood matches pretty well, but now I want to put the door switches with the woodgrain. So now I have to call some salvage yards to see if I can find them.
  19. Your burning a little oil on start-up, leaky valves and go to lextech.org for repairing your needles.
  20. Alright guys another topic for us Lexus owners to argue about LOL. OK I heard that FP60 can improve engine smoothness and greater acceleration. I've never used this additive and want some input from you guys about the product, should I use it or should I not?
  21. Yeah the lower the Octane the more combustion there is, the more power u get, but the 1mz-fe are prone to ping with lower octane which can trigger the knock sensors. I use 91 Octane from Sunoco since there the only gas station that has 91 Octane in my area. Try using the lower octane if you here your engine knocking use the higher Octane. I was told to use the cheapest gas I can find and use FP60; This was from Dyson Anslysis (oil testing house). Now is this FP60 and LC20 really good, what improvements can I notice from using this additive?
  22. Yeah the lower the Octane the more combustion there is, the more power u get, but the 1mz-fe are prone to ping with lower octane which can trigger the knock sensors. 23. OK guys got my answer from the Lexus dealer, they said that 1997-1998ES airbag system is the same as 95-96ES300 airbag system and that the 97 airbag fits on any year from 97-01 steering wheel. So I found the black airbag for 150 bucks and will be installing it on my 2001 ES steering wheel and it will fit perfectly on my 1996 ES300. So if anyone ever wants to install a woodgrain steering wheel from a 1999 to 2001 ES300, you need a 97-98ES300 airbag to not have any problems. I will post pics when I have it installed.
