  1. I will be changing starter on my 1999 LS400 soon, does anyone have part # for coolant bridge gaskets/seals? I have 221K miles on my LS, will be changing throttle body gasket, do I need to change any rubber hoses? I will need to flush the cooling system, shall I replace radiator hoses? Or its unnecessary? If yes, aftermarket OK or only OEM?
  2. Hi, SKperformance, Please give me a quote for a set of gold emblems for 1999 LS400. Font "L" Rear "L" Rear "Lexus" Rear "LS400" Thank you
  3. Did you have a chance to find out what kind of product was used there?
  4. I bought a blank key online for a `99 ls400 and the local locksmith cut it for me for $65. He didn`t want to cut my keywanted to sell me his, saying if he messes my up, he doesn`t want to be responsible. I took chances saying and he did fine. He said it is expensive because the sidewinder machine is $21000 and most locksmiths dont have it. The dealer charges even more as far as I know and then you have to have a dealer to program the transponder anyway.
  5. I bought 245/45/18 Nexen N3000 for my `99 LS400. At first they seemed a little louder then what I expected from a summer tire, but a few hundred miles after I put them on they became a little quieter. In general I am satisfied, especially with the price( somewhere around $460 shipped for the whle set, can`t beat that, most 18" tires are $150-200 a piece!)I can`t tell much about the treadwear just yet. Keep this post active, guys, I want to know other people`s opinoin.
  6. Hi, PIONEERSUBY, I am a new member and can`t PM or e-mail. Have a quick question. Will the CD changer out of 2000 LS400 fit 1995 LS400 or are they different? And is there a way of removing the cartridge without connecting the changer? You input will be appreciated. You can e-mail: vitaliyloboda@yahoo.com
  7. I don`t know. Does anyone know, guys?
  8. I came across the same problem - bought a 99LS with just a SUB key, no master key. Then I bought a blank key with buttons on the head casing(3 buttons) on Ebay for $89 and had it cut by a locksmith who does sidewinder keys $65 ( he was reluctant to cut my blank key, wanted to sell me his own blank, but did it when I said he won`t be responsible if he messes up my blank key). Then I went to a dealer to get the new key programmed and ONLY THEN I found out that in order th program a master key, they have to get me a new ECU $1300, but said they will order the part for me for FREE!!! and I will have to pay just the labor. Later, when thr part came in, I paid $172 for installation of the new ECU and new key programming. That was GREAT!!!Thank you, LEXUS!!!
  9. Depends what kind of mountain :) After all, you dont have to drive onto the top of a moutain to ski. You just get to the bottom of a mountain and take a ski lift. My 99LS gets around ski areas in Colorado just fine(winter tires are a must) Cubby, Do you have a ski rack that fits your LS400? No, I don`t have a rack on mine. I put the skis inside(don`t like doing it very much, although I do use a ski sack)and my snowboard fits into the trunk.
  10. Happy New Year to you all! As for drinking, I made a resolution not to drink in January at all :) Be safe and happy motoring, guys!

  12. Thanks, I see davegs4 has a GS400, though. Are the calipers on 98GS as large as 99LS? What is you opinion on spacers, SKperformance?Thank you.
  13. Hello guys, Would like to put 18" wheels on a 99LS. Was thinking of Lexus OEM off a LS430. Wanted to know if it will fit(I know 2,5 generation LS have large brake calipers on the front). I don`t want to make any modifications to fit the rims, don`t want any spacers(couple mechanics and a dealer discouraged me from doing that, saying spacers might be "asking for trouble" - safety issue). My questions are: 1. Will 18" wheels off 05LS430 fit 99LS? 2. Am I making a good choice going for Lexus wheels? 3.What else should I be taking ino consideration? Any ideas? Thanks a lot
  14. Sam ,thanks for a piece of advice with shutting off the Traction Control. It is my first winter with 1999 LS and I got Dunlop Winter Sport M3 tires, very happy with them, haven`t got stuck once so far, In my opinion those are very good tires, I will summer tires for summer(not all season) ;)
