  1. Where are you talking in IL.? Are you having trouble with any of them cuz I know of one in highland park area.
  2. Y will it make me sick it it goes? I thought the engine was a non interference engine. so if it were to break the car would just stop and not run. I read about a sight on this board a long time ago. they just sold OEM parts on line i bookmarked it and sinse then have formated the hd and lots it. I have been doing searches on the board but can not seem to find the one i am looking for. so if there are any others that people know if let me know ← If you punch up key word the puter usually sends you to the best price.... hence the no 1 distibuter. Just check out the first 6-10 and you should see what I am saying.
  3. I just punched up 2.autopartsathourity,com and they have washablek&n filter for 45.00 and good for 50,000 miles I was just wondering? Like I said I know nothing about what is best product to use so I was just wondering everybodys opinion? ← Seems to be huge price difference from oem and k&n air filter whats the big difference then if nobody knows about 50,000 mile k&n air filters? Just trying to figure out what to put on my 96 es with 90,000 miles on it. What I can do myself.
  4. I just punched up 2.autopartsathourity,com and they have washablek&n filter for 45.00 and good for 50,000 miles I was just wondering? Like I said I know nothing about what is best product to use so I was just wondering everybodys opinion?
  5. I am debating on putting a K & N filter in my wife's Forester.......problem is, this type of car has very sensitive sensors in this regard & I am balking at the idea & for the time being, I will be using only OE (Subaru) paper filters. ← What about these washable good for 50,000 mile filters? Which is best to use,and does walmart carry all sizes for all vehichles?
  6. Hey guys I dont have a problem, tires arent even on my car till spring I am just trying to figure out what preasure I will want to run this summer? I feel the maxx is always like a rock and needed advice as to what preasure I should be looking for? B)
  7. What about price difference? I know nothing in pros and cons about either and as earlier thread said lexus says its fine with k&n filters so whats the dilema about actually? I dont frequent my dealer as I have a fantastic mechanic in town and the dealer is an hour away plus I cant drive. So any recomendations as to where to order the air fliters for engine and or ac?
  8. VERY INTERESTING FACTS GUYS! so its best to use lexus air filters and oil filters not k&n or other quality brands? Could you give a site or two that you freequent to order your parts from please? The more info the better guys thanks. I just purchased an es 300 with 90,000 miles and am trying to figure out what I need to tackle first. The guy I bought it from said he had all fluids changed but without paper work I am not sure what exactly "all" means. He also put front brakes on which is good, but what type of fluids did he use and which exactly got changed i'm not sure. I do need to know what fluids and filters to buy though so you guys have been great help. I did change to mobil 1 ,replaced timing belt and all other belts.
  9. Lexus offers no tire pressure guidelines for 215 x 50 17's on a 1996 ES because these were not the factory original wheel and tire sizes. ← so your pretty much on your own? just drive and feel and listen? or is there a norm below maxx psi that I can go with? but thanks sk I didnt know that.
  10. I agree but they are selling them for the same price as of last year and there cost is very close to what it was last year. $88 per tire (Falken Zeix) is not that bad, but then it goes back my rule on prices. No tire is worth $88 just for a tire. Maybe when I had my Nitto's on my stang with a retail price of over $225 each. Then again I am sure the region etc plays a big role. From what I have seen in general, example here; if tires is like $130 retail, there price is always below to show you “a deal”. So in this case it would be around $100 to $105 per tire (for any Joe Blow walking in). 100 to 1 the tire cost between $55 to $70 for them to sell to others dealers, car shops etc. Their real price based on what limited info I have seen is that they are make $10 to $15 per tire to dealers. Even then most shops will install the tire etc to dealers for free. So a $130 is marked up 2.2 to 3X just for you. Oh, but you get a free aligment..WHOA! I did not get nor have the Falken Zeix and I hope they are better then my toyos in the snow. The thread does look the same. Next time, I think I am going to get the goodyear TT but then again yoko's have always done well with me. ← But what does arnold say????? lol Deals rock no doubt about it and I must say I do get my share ,but when it comes to tires around here I pay what you pay if you walked into sears....nada deal!!!!! but I am looking foreward to puting my falcens on my new waxed wheels this summer... ← sorry guys its a bit early my spelling sucks wow I should proof read first I guess.

  12. :D :D WOW!!! that pretty clean..Great job on the detailing. ← sell it to me when your done with her??????????????? :D
  13. Nobody around here will even get close to that price. Wish it was easier but tirerack has great prices and discounttires has free shipping which worked out great for me .
  14. Hey bud , my opinion you are using a great product and there is no way i could ever beleive that changing any oil at 35,000 mile intervals. If your looking for an easy way out for time and money sorry I dont have one, but try amsoil if you like just keep us posted. Personaly I wouldnt change..
  15. In reference to psi,,,, what should the psi in a tire be?? Imean is there a rule of thumb of how much below the tire has stated on the side wall?? If you are not riding in snow and just want to know where you should keep your tire preasure. Every time I take my car for oil change my tires feel like rocks cuz they pump them up to maximum psi. So is there any guildline? I am running 215 x 50 17's on my es... thanks
  16. Prices are great but only if we know what size??? big difference... ← Not exactly sure what point your trying to make exactly zin? ← I was just saying your prices you quote are good but it also helps to know what size tires for that price .. Just to be able to compare apples to apples thats all, sorry for confusion.. :D
  17. personally you should have heated with hair dryer and whole thing would of came right off. like many of us it helps to ask first..lol easy little tasks can turn into jobs if we dont ask!!
  18. Didno' have them. I was getting some prices and the guy (personal friend) was giving me prices that were really good. It is like my toyo proxies tpt. I got them for like $300 installed etc. I could get them cheaper now then before if I wanted them. But these will be my last set of toyo's. He said if I do not like my toyo in the winters you will not like the Falken's. Next time I am going to try Michelin's Pilot or Goodyear Assurance TripleTred. I can get them installed cheaper then online prices. They would be about what I paid for my toyo.s ← Have to respectfully disagree with your tire guy about the Falken's in the winter mburn......I drive both in the winter......granted on 2 different vehicles, but the Falkens bite better in the slushy stuff & on icy roads better than the Toyo's. heavy rain was about the same....but the Falken definately has the advantage in winter conditions. Having said that, if it's down to the Falken & the Triple Tread......I'd go with the TT bud.....it will be more expensive (not sure how much.....depends how much price shopping you have done! ;) ) but longevity wise, it will last longer & it has a better warranty. Depending on how long you will be keeping your 98 ES, it just might be the last set of tires you purchase. B) Keep us posted & good luck! ;) ← Ok, I am just going by the guy who sells the tires at the tire place in my city. The prices are all 60 to 75 per tire installed (blanced, new stems, road hazard etc). My mom was down getting tires and she got the triple threads..So far, they seem to be noisy like the toyo;s. I need to re-check air. Sister got weather handlers and there were quiet. He gave us a real good deal on them. Felt bad buying them so loooooow. ← Prices are great but only if we know what size??? big difference...
  19. Do it yourself what the heck,,,, brand new ride like that I would be out cleaning it more than I would be sleeping..lol CONGRATS !! TAKE CARE OF YOUR BABIES!!
  20. You have made a wise choice zin......keep us posted how your enjoying them! B) You will be impressed. ;) ← Thanks lexus I will be waxing my wheels and cleaning my tires waiting for spring ..I should have at least 10 coats of wax on by then...lol thanks for your input.
  21. Cant get tripple treads in my size!!! I have decided to go with falcon due to its price and if it cant hang up there with some of the other big boys it's almost half the price when you add the fact that I can get 215 50 17 for $75.00 and free shipping from discounttiredirect. The azenis st 115 are $88.00 a tire, and I really dont see them as looking more aggressive myself. Personaly I kinda like a bit of an aggressive looking tire . A es 300 is a bit sporty if you ask me especially if you are putting chrome wheels on it so I must decide between the two.... Thanks all for your help and your choices will be interesting to see.
  22. I am in kenosha wi. about 1 hour from chicago and 45 min from milwaukee. I have found someone right here in town to cut the key for $35.00 but was still wondering if the key then could be programed after the dance you have to do? I have original key but remote button on the side of black does not work so I am trying to get another key that works the locks. lexus charges a ton !!!
  23. OK!!! I think I got it down to two,,, Really for the price I cant go wrong with the falkens. I just have to decide between the ziex 512 for $75.00 or the azenis st 115 for $88.00. FREE SHIPPING from discount tire, cant beat that. tire rack has the best prices on tires i have ever seen and the fairest shipping also ,but they dont handle falken. I was very excited to find free shipping thats what kills ya most of the time. So any last thoughts????? <_<
  24. The price you will pay if that belt goes will make you sick!!!! Change it now.
  25. I was surprised to find out in ken. Wi. I can get my key cut for $35.00. I just hope that all these people saying the key can be programed are telling the truth. Cuz I am waiting for a programable uncut key from ebay but feel I was part of a scam, but anyway My town is pretty small and we have a place to lazer cut the keys so more people are seeming to get the machines. So you get the key cut then hope it can be programed going through the funky steps is that how this will work???? or not??? lol
