  1. This is the 1st time I have heard of the GS350 not starting due to programming. How much of a good deal do the dealer gave you on the V8? Is the V8 noticebaly faster than the GS350? The GS460 is suppose to have the nicer leather on the seats right, can you tell the difference?
  2. Thats a good deal, ML is hard to find.
  3. The left headlight should never turn off if the right one is on. You have a problem there, bring it back to the dealer to get it fix.
  4. We have 93 and 91 here in MA, made no noticable diff. in my GX.
  5. My one week old GS did the same, but the squeaking seem to have stop. I heard there is a TSB for excessive brake dust that will also take care of the squeaking problem.
  6. I just purchased an 08 GS 350 AWD MSRP $50,800 and paid $46,000 for it.
  7. I would say it is for kids under 14 years old or for adults on short trip. I take one of the seat out when I have only one adult in the 3rd row on long trips.
  8. We have had the Sequia before we bought the RX I just miss the room and the GX is so appealing to me and with the introduction of the VVTI line up the gas mileage is pretty close to the RX in my opinion. I dont think the VVT-i engine improve the gas mileage, its about the same, just more horepower. I own a GX and my wife have the RX and trust me, the MPG between the 2 is not as close as you think. The RX gets about 3-4 MPG more than the GX. As far as passenger room, they are both about the same, a tad more on the GX. The GX has more cargo room and the 3rd row seats.
  9. There is a TSB for the clunk. The GX is a solid truck, very well built. Have you test drove a GX yet? Its not that much beigger than the RX in my opinion, if you are looking for extra room, maybe the GX is not for you.
  10. I have owned 3 different cars with MPG computers and all different brand, they all read higher than actually calculation. I wonder if this is done on purpose or if it has something to do with the programming. As far as temp. is concern, its only a cheap temp sensor they put in there, a good lab. garde thermocouple will cost like $600.
  11. It cannot be done without major re-programming, only the nav display have a option to change to metric.
  12. How far off is your temp and MPG computer off by? It is normal for the MPG computer to be 2 or 3 MPG higher and the temp gauge may be off a few degree also. Usually when the temp gauge is 5 to 10 degree when you first start driving, after 10 minutes or so, it will settle down to the actual temp. The problem with determining the temp gauge accuracy is that the temp you are comparing to may be as inaccurate as the temp gauge in your GX, but in the opposite direction, therefore doubling the error. And no, there is no TSB for temp or MPG computer replacement for the GX.
  13. If you do not go off road, just leave it in 4 high and you will be fine. You do not need to tap on the brakes since the GX has anti lock brake, just push the brake and hold it there and the electronics will do the tapping if necassary. DAC is mostly for off road use, you can play around it when there is no traffic, but I would not use it in the city. If you are going down a icy hill with multiply stop signs, try shifting into lower gear and use the engine braking. If you feel yourself skidding while starting off slowly down the hill, it may be time for new tires or get some snow tires, I would not shift into low or use the DAC in that condition. I believe the brakes still work when in DAC mode and you do not need to lock the center diff to engage the DAC.
  14. The GX redesign will be release at the same time or a year later than the 4runner redesign. The rumor on all the 4runner board has been a 2010 redesign on the 4runner. Expect the redesign GX to be release in 2010 or 2011.
  15. Glenn, I had mine done almost 2 years ago and still as smooth as new.
  16. That doesnt sound like the clunk problem.
  17. Just a guess, but I dont think we will see any major changes for the GX in 09 since a total resign is gear for 2010.
  18. Thats only in the most servere case, I had the clunk and my GX never make any noise when I step on brakes and play with the rear height control. If you even feel a little bit of a bump from the rear sometimes when you stop at a red light, the TSB is not done. Sounds like you need to be a little more firm with your Lexus dealer. Print out the TSB and show it to them and ask them to perform it. If they refuse, tell them you will call Lexus headquarter and file a complain about them refusing to perform a warrenty service. If TSB is already done, they will know it once they get it one the lift.
  19. mgowe1, did you have the clunk TSB done already? If not, print out a copy and show it to them.
  20. You have the clunk, check out this thread. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=29288
  21. Its not a vibration issue, its a clunk issue. When you come to a stop, do you sometime feel a slight push from the back after you stop. If so, you need the TSB done. Your Lexus dealer should know if the TSB have been done on your GX or not by looking at the computer. The Toyota dealer cannot do Lexus TSB or warranty work.
  22. If one of your gauge read 32 psi and the other read 38, then one of your gauge is no good. Find a good gauge and set the tires to 35 psi and you should be good to go.
  23. Usually, for Toyota motor to buy back your vehicle, it would have to be a safety or a problem that prevent you from using your car. I would say you have some other issue if you already had the lastest TSB. Try bring it to another dealer, maybe you might have better luck there.
  24. It pretty hard to go to arbitration and win since the clunk is not a safety issue. Have you apply the lastest TSB for the clunk, if so, there is a good chance that there are other problems on your GX.
  25. When you park, you are suppose to hear a hiss, thats the air suspension bleeding out the air. The rear air suspension is also self leveling, were you go going over hills when you felt the suspension go down at a red light, is you rear height control in the N mode? Anyhow, it doesnt hurt to have the dealer look at it, it could be a rear height sensor. There have been quite a few owners who had the sensor replaced. Good Luck
