last week i stopped to gas up and while i was at it decided to run my gx 470 thru the touchless car wash. i have used this type of car wash many times before. the outside temperature was about 0 degrees(32 far.) about a mile down the highway the rear drivers side door window exploded into thousands of pieces.the highway was paved and there wasnt any other traffic.rhere were no chips or flaws in the window that i know of.i live in northern canada 6 hours from the closest dealer who want over $300 for this window plus shipping costs to me and then i have to get it put in.does anyone know where i might buy this window at a more reasonable price in canada?thanx for reading my tale of woe. mal

i installed a remote start on my 2005 gx470 and it works fine. the problem is when i finished the srs warning lite was on. i disconnected the battery to attempt to reset the computor ,but this didnt work.everything seems to be working . i live a long way from the nearest dealer. can someone help me reset ? thanx

i purchased a used hitch from a wrecked 2003 4 runner (custom hitch for 75 dollars) and it fit my 2005 gx 470 no problem. nothing needed to be removed or drilled.i believe other years of 4 runner will work.

as the potential seller of the third row seats i felt i should add the following. the brackets have bolts on each end so i assumed they were easily transferable. not so i understand.i would have let the brackets go with the seats.when i asked a dealer about cost he had just ordered in rear seat for poeple whos dogs had chewed on thiers. cost $1600.00 for the cushions .natestergx could have had mine for under $1000.00 including shipping so i wasnt ripping him off ,but trying to help him out. he phoned me after checking with his dealer and finding he couldnt use them so i would like to thank him for bieng a real gentleman.selling the seats would probably lower the value of my gx by at least that much so ill just store them.thanx mbj

after reading my reply to your post i used the term seat instead of seats.i have the two third row seats. mbj

im a senior that lives alone and i have a tan third row seat that as far as i know has never been sat on.i have a 2005gx that only has 8000 miles on it.i dont have any idea what the seat is worth ,but i can or you can check with a dealer next week.i live in canada( imported the gx from ohio) ,but that shouldnt be a problem.i dont see myself needing the seat so will consider selling it. mbj

im still trying to run down a faceplate for a 2005 gx470 that reads kph instead of mph on the main speedometer ring.i imported this lexus from the usa to canada. got to thinking that someone may have the reverse problem and would be willing to swap face plates.i cant run down a replacement dial face for a reasonable price. thanx mbj

g man after driving long enough to allow for the outside temperature to settle down it read -4 to -5 degrees.the accutate outside temperature was -8.1 degrees.yes' the mpg in the vehicle shows 2 to 3 mpg high. i dont understand how in a vehicle this expensive and sofisticated it can be considered "normal". thanx mbj

after reading thru the forums i saw that some were having problems with the temperature/mpg computer accuracy.i seem to be in the same boat with my 2005 gx470. is there a letter or notice from lexus or dealers that i could refer my dealer to so ican get this problem checked? gs400jon who had the computer changed for this problem said his dealer called the replacement the "outside temperature gage fix" so he must have been aware. thanx for reading. mbj

im a canadian that just bought a 2005 gx470 in ohio. the owners manual i was given with it turnsout to be for a rx330. iwant to change the us system to metric and celsius and cant figure out how to do it. the vehicle does not have a navigation system. any advice is appreciated. thanx. mbj
