  2. Hopefully that was the fix, This is why I always use 100% OEM parts. Owners choose to take short cuts, cheap aftermarket parts, poor indie mechanics and the list goes on and on. Then they expect the results to be the same or better than OEM and never take the responsibility of there choices and put blame on others. It is quite clear cut - USE TOYOTA/LEXUS PARTS WHEN MAINTAINING YOUR VEHICLE. I am sure there are are many members who would agree with this. Except for a few who decided to downgrade there car with aftermarket. After all when your lexus came off the assembly line it was at it's pinnacle/apex/top.
  3. Thanks for your thoughts SK. My gut tells me it is an electrical problem, but that's based on feel not a strong knowledge of how this system works. I wonder if we could play it out a little further to make sure that I've given all the relevant information If it was the tranny mounts causing the linkage to jam, would the shift lock release button unjam it? And if it does, once released, wouldn't I feel some mechanical resistance to overcome the linkage jam when going into reverse? After I depress the shift lock release, it shifts very easily. The post initiated by droppedlexus on September 20th mentions a neutral safety switch. The schematic posted there also shows three inputs, only one of which is from the brake light circuit. I'm not an expert at reading schematics, but would a failure of one of these cause the symptoms I am seeing? Lastly, assuming you are right on the tranny mounts, how much do you think that repair might cost? Thanks in advance... For what it is worth... You owe mw a beer shifter_position_gs300.pdf

  9. The cover snaps on and off, It is a tight fit. You think you will break it and at that point it will pop off. Use a small flathead screwdriver wrapped in electricians tape to pry with. Good Luck
  10. Definetly get the garage, Not only will it help protect the lex it also offers some storage and room to keep up on the detailing/maintenance and you'll have a place to sleep when the wif catches you coming home late with liquor on your breath...
  11. I thought we would get a good laugh and maybe stir some opinions...

  13. Get a breaker bar http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/tools.asp?t...re=snapon-store and the correct socket. They will probably make a screech when they loosen. Or you could get a piece of heavy pipe that fits over the end of the lug wrench.

  17. Hmmm....Weren't you the guy that had it in for Verizon awhile back? :P Oh, I HATE Verizon as a company, but they do have the best cell service. Sw, I was speaking for myself , The places I travel to I know or have done research on as to sights, Historical markers, mile markers etc... I stay away from large cities in general and I basically just pass through them. I don't have business on the road, I enjoy a quiet destination and I really enjoy driving and keeping a fine mental bearing as to where I am and where I am going. Kind of like taking Route 66 across the USA. That to me is part of the fun in driving.
  18. For you :P
  19. RX, I am in 100% agreeance with you on the cell phone bit, To tell you the truth I really can't see a nav in a car. If one doesn't know where there going PLAN YOUR TRIPS OUT...............Just another distraction. Call me old fashioned, I threw my cell in the garbage ( recycled ) in 2002. Don't miss it a bit.
  20. DRAGONUV, If you ever need an amp, I'll have one for you. :D
