Agreed! 2011 maintenance schedule says replace the brake fluid at 30k miles so recommendation to do it during one of the next couple of services is apparently exactly correct
-
no problem my friend..after all, I was too freakin' lazy to look, lol
-
it is yellow, universally known to mean warning, or caution red, universally known as "get the f*ck to a service station quick" is WRONG for a maintained indicator
-
worked!!!! thanks k.c. went on when hit 9800 miles
-
not sure if you are breaking my chops for being too lazy to look in the manual if you are, haha, very funny if you are serious, that info is really no help

Here is how you do it on the 2010 ES 350. 1. With the car on, switch the odometer to TRIP A. 2. Turn car off 3. Hold down the odometer reset button while car is off . 4. Hit the start button with foot OFF the brake. After a few seconds, the maintenance reset message will appear. When it resets, hit the start button a couple of times without stepping on the gas to turn everything off. You can then starat the car normally. .ii thanks k.c., I'll give it a try

9800 miles on my 2011, and the oil maintenance required indicator comes on so I have a yellow warning light in my face, and my display occupied with this text warning, and no obvious way to get rid of them horrible! somebody please tell me there is a way to kill the light and display without going to the dealer thanks

Service Man In Cherry Hill Nj Lexus Dealer

assuming you have more than a routine issue, is that right? for basic service, it's not going to matter -
agree with the consensus here that tire pressure is the culprit..there has been a lot of talk here regarding tire pressure..it makes a huge difference in ride and handling..I was disappointed in the ride and handling when I first got my car, and increasing the tire pressure showed dramatic difference did you try 30psi??
-
yeah, that does seem to be the case....guess we are making too much of it can't control all the variables either, like tire pressure
-
looks great, enjoy!!
-
normally an offense that should be punishable by death, lol, but leaving a note is "standup"..so have to put this one in the "sh*t happens" category

ok, steve, that's interesting, verifies what someone speculated that the analog speedo is hosed, but does not affect the digital readings...well, perhaps not average speed reading, but we now have evidence that the digital odo is off in the OTHER direction can't make any sense out of how the digital readings are not synched
-
wow, what's going on!!! everyone reporting higher speedo readings than actual, and now we see that actual mileage is LESS than actual?? well, if true, speedo and odo are not sync'd, as someone speculated here, but at least the odo is working in our favor
-
hey, holiday weekend, someone must be traveling on a road with mile markers if so, please check odometer accuracy for us thanks
-
wow, that sucks...took um a long time to address the problem
-
yeah, never thought of that...just hate getting gas, so always stretching it that's weird about the expandable bladder in the prius..but wouldn't you do the same thing to know how much gas is remaining when the light goes on just fill it when the light goes on, and subtract the amount it took to fill from the gas tank size, eh?
-
does the hum increase proportionally with your speed, not there when not moving? if yes, probably a tire, but could be engine is the hum in the front, back, both, one side, both? if only from one corner, way likely it is tire, especially if it is rear where engine is not a possibility if tire suspected, rotate um, and see if the hum moves to rule in, or rule out tire hopefully not tranny...

soon after I got the car I checked how much gas was left in the tank at the moment the gas indicator light went on for the 2011 es350, it is about 2.5 gallons.. so for me, approx 20mpg, I can still comfortable drive 30-40 miles, though at around 40 miles with the light on, it is not so comfortable, lol

Here is a funny/interesting anecdote about the es fuel level sensor. Well, funny/interesting to people like us who enjoy this type of thing. Been trying since I got the car to get the approx range indicator as close to 0 miles as possible before getting gas, please tell me I am not the only one, lol. Anyway, had that baby down to 4 miles when I pull into the gas station all proud of myself. Only had 10 bucks on me, so that is what I put in. Gas gauge moved up accordingly, but what do you know..not enough extra gas in there to reset the approx range and tank mpg, ha!! At first I am thinking, how annoying it is that the indicators f'd up and did not reset, but then I realized.... I can get the approx range indicator, still stuck at 4, down to 0 easily, and then what, would it go negative, lol..could hardly wait Watched intently as the sucker went down, and there it was, 0, ha..continued to drive for another 15 miles or so, and no negative numbers, just stayed at 0, mile after mile, after mile. Admittedly, there is a chance I have to much free time.
-
not sure why you characterized 45k as low mileage for front brake replacement given local driving sounds pretty goods to me
-
And what fun would that be? I am only kidding seriously I have slowed down quite a bit in my old age! :) The tag covers were the main reason I was getting pulled. I have taken them off so hopefully I am good now. Got stopped once since I have had them off. But I have been good lately. I have slowed with my advancing years also, so risk is dramatically reduced..especially the risk of getting a ticket for some insanely high speed

Man I need some of those cards! lol actually I have a few state boys insured with me, as well as the dispatcher for the local police and the state police departments. I don't usually even do any name dropping but I am just respectful and do the whole I am wrong sir I am sorry by the way any chance this could be a warning? :) I like your style Lexir! My son in law is a deputy and the whole name drooping thing is a big laugh among the guys when they're swapping stories from being on patrol. All they want is for someone to at least accept some responsibility instead of trying to make it someone else's fault. Paul agree that they don't want you not taking responsibility, but disagree huge that proving you know a fellow officer is laughed at at least here in NY, not only is the practice of proving you know another cop in play, but there is some degree of detail to it the closer your relationship to the cop you know, the better..the cop that stops you will actually ask how well you know the person also, if the card is old, that won't work so sick, but you have to play along either you are part of the silly game or you are on the outside looking in and sh*t out of luck
-
anyone get the chance to check their odometer accuracy? I am waiting to drive on a road with mile markers..none in my immediate area
