Audiovox system is good enough for me both the starter & alarm work just fine. I am sure if willing to spend the cash you can get a much better system. I am not familiar with Clifford. I left my LX 450 & pick it up later on that same day. I am not sure how long to actually install. I received 2 - 4 button Prestige remotes with the system.

Hi Yes, I installed an Audiovox 786 remote starter & alarm system in my 97 LX 450 at a cost of about $420 this included a few extra options for example the anti grind for the starter in case you turn your key to far & also the side marker lights light up to show that the truck is running. The starter & alarm works from as far away as 100 yards. I park my LX about 100 yards away from my work door & have had no problem starting it from the front door.

I have had a new alarm & remote starter installed in my 97 LX at a cost of about $420 including NY tax. I can remote start my LX from a 100 yards I know this because I park my truck at work off in a secluded spot about 100 yards from the door.

How many miles are on your car. Does it stay on or flash on & off? If it flashes on & off do not drive it get it service. If it stays on & you have 60000 miles or more it sounds like your oxygen sensor to me.

You must consider your needs if room is a factor the LX 450 with 7 passenger would be a great choice. If the extra room is not necessary the RX may be better for you.

Look from the outside drivers side windshield at your dashboard it should be in the corner.

I notice a vibration when applying the breaks. I have new rotors & brakes on the truck. While checking over my truck I notice I was able to turn the tie rods by hand. Does this mean I need new tie rod ends? The steering is good not sloppy & no play.

Do the carfax for piece of mind on some of the history of the car. No matter what the feedback plan on all not being told. {allow for this in your offer} Ask a lot of questions & get the answers in writing {email} to all your questions. Before you bid email the seller to give him a time frame & to let him know you plan on purchasing the car but you will pay after you check the car out for yourself & if both agree it is as stated in the add.{seller might fess up additional information if he knows you are making a trip out there to pick up} You can fly out to personally inspect & pick up the car {sometimes much cheeper than driving in the long run} most will pick you up at the airport you can get a 30 day temp tag then you can drive the car back. If car is not as you hope your out the cost of the trip but in the long run ahead of the game. IF you purchase the car the trip back will also give you a good idea of the condition of the car & any work that you might need to do.

One possibility you could need Tie rod ends. Tie Rod Ends are very often the first part of the steering mechanism to wear, and are the main cause of the "sloppy feeling" that is described to diagnostic mechanics.

Just a guess. Does you car have a timing belt or chain. Sounds like the timing belt to me.

Start the car while idling disconnect your positive battery terminal if the car stalls its the alternator.

There was a place for me to click on top left but is no longer there on my PC from the time the upgrade was done to this sight.

It is a noise that sounds like something is vibrating from outside. I actually do not feal a vibration. I am guessing the mirrors cause if I open the drivers side or passenger side window the noise becomes more pronounce.

I have a loud & steady vibration noise from I believe the door mirrors but not 100% sure at first it sounded like a leaf in the vents. The faster I am moving the louder it becomes. Any body has or had this problem who can help. I would be grateful.

I received the K&N oil filter today part # HP 1002 it is literally half the size of the HP 3001 Hard to believe the 2 size difference between the 96 & 97 according to K&N.

I recently purchase a K& N air & oil filter for my 97 lx 450 using the make -- model- year -- engine they provide on the sight. I installed them but notice the oil filter seam much bigger than the one I remove. I decided to go on line to K&N site to make sure I received the correct oil filter; I did not the part # HP 3001 is for a 96 lx 450 The oil filter I should have received is part # HP 1002 . I notified the company I purchase it from they are sending me the correct oil filter My question, is this the engine is the same in the 96 - 97 lx the filter is not leaking & the oil pressure gauge is at 3/4 going 50 mph 1/2 way at 30 mph & between 1/4 & 0 when idling I will install the correct filter as soon as I receive it but in the meantime is it safe to continue driving with my current filter.

Is this a very common problem? My CD changer will not load or eject CDs. I have tried a new CD magazine but did not solve the problem. Should I go new with an after market or have the changer repaired? If new anybody who can tell me what make & model will fit in center console & work with the lx unit.
