  1. Ive tried the magic eraser and I must say it does what it says it will. I agree with SW03ES, this product shouldnt be used every week...it feels a little rough.
  2. Is it the timing belt cover you are trying to remove? Disconnect the CKP wire from the clamp on the cover (near the bottom), then remove the 2 bolts.
  3. Distrubutor caps - 3 bolts (1 on left of cap, 1 on right, 1 at the bottom of the cap. Distrubutor housing - remove rotors then remove the 3 bolts holding the housing.
  4. Youre right about gas not getting old but if it sits long enough (3-4weeks) without any movement it'll start to seperate. Gas = hydrogen + carbon (HC). If it sits without some kind of device that "mixes" it then the hydrogen will seperate from the carbon molecule. If this happens then there will be 2 layers in that tank...Im not sure which is heavier Im assuming the hydrogen but one will sit at the bottom and the other on top of it (kind of like when you pour oil into water). Maybe you didnt get a good mix.
  5. Its the bolt on the second "pan" under your car. The first pan is your oil pan..move towards the back of the car a little and you'll find the transmission pan. Use ATF T-IV.
  6. What do you do to get it started again after its been sitting there for 10hrs+ ?
  7. Thanks. I think they may have been re-upholstered. I dont know for sure though, I never bothered to ask. Hows traction at 44 psi?
  8. non-interference.
  9. No cracks, no tears, no wear...you gotta love that. (Just a little black smudge from when I was working on the car...havent cleaned it up yet)
  10. Here ya go. Its dirty but you cant even tell...hah. Diamond White Pearl:
  11. Ill snap some tomorrow and ill post it up here. check back.
  12. Start off by blue booking the car as in GOOD condition...then adjust the price to help compensate for any repairs needed. KBB's price is usually above market value anyways.
  13. Just wanted to make sure I had everything I needed before tearing it apart. Thanks guys.
  14. Personally Id keep the car. With any used car purchase you would have to expect something to go wrong with it sooner or later. If you fix her up at least youll know what areas have been covered. Just my opinion.
  15. After all these years of collecting tools, Ive ended up with a massive collection...close to if not more then 500 pieces. Ive read the timing belt PDF for first generation LS400's and was just wondering what "special tools" were required. I know the harmonic balancer is one of them but is there anything else?
  16. I have the same ones you have on yours right there...haha. I agree, it does look if not 100% then 200% better. Its on a diamond white 91.
  17. Maybe it was removed then reinstalled? I dont think it has anything to do with the rims or tires because it rides real smooth. The alignment shouldnt be an issue either because its perfect.
  18. I just noticed earlier today that my steering wheel tilts a little to the left....the alignment is perfect. Should I just detach the steering wheel and reposition it?
  19. Thanks. I did do a lot of searching on this topic but was not able to come up with a sure answer to my question. Max pressure on the sidewall said 44psi so I was just afraid of underinflation as no minimum was stated. I was just curious as to if anyone has these same tires on their car and what psi they dialed it in to. Thanks though.
  20. I recently purchased a set of Lexus LS400 16" rims in place of my 15" rims. Went out and had a set of Michelin XGT V4 225/60/16 mounted on them. According to the label in the glovebox, the recommended cold tire inflation is 32psi..but I figured this would be for tires that met OES. The shop that mounted my tires set them at 32psi. Maximum pressure on these tires are 44psi...what should I set them at to get the most out of my tires?
  21. Ive seen the how to at Lextreme's page. I know that the harmonic balancer is one of the special tools required but are there any other ones? Whats the need of having a big 500 piece tool set for? I know that not all 500 pieces will be used. Does anyone happen to know exactly what is used to change out the timing belt? Thanks.
  22. buyautoparts.com is the same as jaggraveyard.com....jaggraveyard.com has an ebay store online and is a powerseller if that helps.
  23. Where is everyone getting the Mobil1 oil filters from? I cant find any place that carries them around here.
  24. I said F it earlier and ordered...Ill let visa handle it if anything goes wrong.
  25. I think the pinstripes on my car were painted on. There are sections of the stripe thats no longer present...looks like it slowly came of during car washes.
