  1. You are going to find out that some parts books other than the dealer ones are goofed up on some parts for these cars. The cost dealer seals will not break the bank. That is where I would go if your local auto parts store can't find some. Forget all the online stuff when you are stuck. Rock auto is good but if there was a goof up with not so costly parts like a seal, then go in person some place and show them in person what the problem is. So much less hassle than dealing with something you can't see online.

  2. Welcome! The Toyota DIY site shows part# 90311-71001 for the cam seal. A quick search reveals a few sources but as to exact size, I do not know. Take a look at this and see if it might be a possibility. You do know that you have to remove the cams to get to the seal? http://www.oscaroparts.com/reinz-engine-camshaft-seal-90311-71001-4962974-10063-p

  3. That much marginal to bad history has an impact on price. The Mitsu dealership lacks expertise in premium cars and is a bit greedy. Just imagine the flack from a dealership one would get trying to trade it in at a later date. I'd keep shopping, preferably at a Lexus dealership (doesn't need to be CPO), they would typically wholesale off a car like this and not display on their used car lot.

  4. I suggest you look under a 10 year old car from a heavy road salt area, then look under a 10 year old car (or 20 for that matter) from the south and you will see. Sure the sheet metal doesn't corrode though as quickly, but it still does. I have lived in both climates. Regarding the snow tires, sounds like an AWD car with snow tires is the way to go.
