acf Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 YOUR REPAIR MANUAL FOR 1997 LS400 PART# 00245-RM514U $128.68 Tell me I can get it cheaper! :o Also, the guy thats gonna help me change the timing belt mentioned he needed to know "torque specs". Is this an issue?
silvermate Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 you can find them on ebay for about 99 dollars or so...but thats about as cheap as i've seen em. you can also get the cd rom kind for a lot less, ebay as well alldata.com has em to download, but you have to sign up and pay as a member, i think its only a one time fee though don't know about the torque specs, i'll look around and post later
99lsguy Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Call: 800-622-2033 Toyota publlications........... My 99LS manual cost me about $95 (this is for Vol 2, engine, tranny, etc..) The fact that your friend wants to know the torque specs is a very good sign to me - sounds like he knows what to do and wants to be thorough. This is a full day task. new water pump, t belt tensioner, l/r ignition rotors, etc - lots of things to check and replace while you've got it apart. You will need those specs..IMO
SKperformance Posted May 20, 2004 Posted May 20, 2004 It is worth every penny if you do your own repairs.
blake918 Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I got mine on ebay for $175-shipped. That is both books that were brand new at the time. Follow ebay for a while, some should show up at a reasonable price.
