Mystery Filter In A 1998

Recommended Posts

post a pic if possible.

Pre-02 ES's didn't have the cabin filter in or behind the glove box. They are down under the dash board to the above right of the gas pedal.

It may just be a heat vent for the CD player.

my point was that the filter for the 92-01 ES is NOT in the glove box as asked in your original question.

yes-they do have a cabin filter

yes-there are several brands out there

yes-they can be purchased from non-Lexus dealers on the web.

maybe we are just on the wrong communication lines.

Same as this link http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...hl=cabin+filter and copied below

I just went out to check mine, and my 1998 does NOT have a filter. It take around 5 minutes to open the conpartment and look.

I did clean the conpartment wilth a 2-hp shop vac with a 5/8" OD hose duck taped over the hoses end. This would boost the suction and also able me to vac the inside.

Nice and clean and I will order a filter.
