Zett123 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I am getting an accumulation of water in 2001 LS430 on the front passenger rubber floor mat after a rain. Car is parked and not A/C has not been running. Any ideas?? The water is also running through the carpet into the back seat floor area too, soaked.
1990LS400 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Clogged sunroof drain hoses are a possibility and fairly common - see the attached diagram.
Legender Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I had the same problem on a Honda accord... Using a sprinkler on specfic parts of the car I was able to trace it down to the driver's door as the entry point. Evidently some work had been done prior to my ownership and the plastic liner was not sealed properly... Water would just pour in through the closed window and into the car... May not be your issue... but certainly was mine...
lenore Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Plus 1 on the sunroof drains....generally it is the culprit....
Jcone30 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Could be three thing 1 sunroof drain are clogged 2 evap drian clogged 3 has your car ever had a windshield
Zett123 Posted May 21, 2013 Author Posted May 21, 2013 Drivers side drain tube was clogged and you couldn't even tell where the opening was. Also in the last week I had a new windshield installed because of a slight crack that was growing larger. We had some rain but nothing severe and as of this writing i am high and dry. Another question is, if the sunroof drain is clogged, how does it make its way from the roof area to under the dash onto the floor mat? It is a mystery. (I ran the A/C all day Sunday going to the Eastern Shore and back, not a drop).
