Clock Does Not Change From Daylight Time

Have a 2011 ES350 with Nav. Daylight time ended today and changed setting to daylight savings off several times. Always making sure I saved it. Went for a 5 mile drive and still the car is on Daylight. My wife has a 2011 RX350 and that changed right away.

Anybody have any thoughts,before I take it to the dealer. Thanks

That is disappointing that you have to adjust the time manually . My old LS430 was always accurate. Went back to the car and manually changed it. The manual is not clear if that is necessary.

My 2010 ES keeps accurate time...

But you do have to manually change the clock on the ES.

OK Thanks for the info, but why does Lexus put the daylight on/off in the setup menu? I'll also be checking the time over the next few weeks against my iphone 4s.

It might be because governments have been diddling with daylight savings time start and end dates. Daylight savings time started and ended on the same dates for about 40 years until the dates were changed in 2007. Now, untold millions of devices made before the last change no longer automatically adjust correctly for daylight savings time.

I think its because the nav software is shared across all the models, and some models will automatically adjusted for DST. Its basically just a soft option that should have been hidden in the ES application but wasn't.

Like Jim, I too have a few clocks that now change a couple weeks early for DST! Very annoying.

Yes it is annoying. I have a GE Alarm system that is on the old daylight time change and I thought I could get a software update, but no luck.

I also have 2 LaCrosse Atomic wall clocks that they very nice and replaced because the chip was on the old system. They let me keep the old ones and now when the alarm and old LaCrosse clock move either forward or back before the "new" time change I get a 2 week warning! I will go to the dealer on Monday and see what they will say as the techs there are very nice and knowledgeable.

I will post any new info that I get.

For what it is worth, I just got back from a trip to Italy. On Sunday morning, October 30, my Garmin Nuvi automatically changed the time to the proper time local time in Venice. It was the only accurate time piece we had and had to set all of our watches accordingly. A bar tender told us they call it "winter time". When we got back to the U.S. yesterday, it also set the time right for Central Time.

Its about as relevant as my cell phone adjusting for DST...which it did.

I was going to ask do you have a cell phone? I am not aware of any cell phone that doesn't automatically adjust...

ANY NAVIGATION SYSTEM is not the topic of this thread! I thought it was about the Lexus Navigation System not changing to daylight savings time. The fact that your watch can do it but the Lexus Navigation cannot seems highly relevant to the thread.

In cased you haven't noticed the clock on the ES350 is not incorporated in the navigation system, its a separate, low tech, simple digital clock. I had to reset all of my watches...and the clock in my Lexus and the world didn't end.

Lots of cars out there with clocks integrated in the navigation system, if thats a must have for you I would suggest you sell your ES and buy one of those.

We know...the Lexus navigation sucks and your Garmin is so awesome we're just fools for not seeing it. We've heard. Over...and over....and over again.

I know that the dash board clock is not set by the navigation system. I also know that the only time that the navigation system displays any time setting is when you are navigating, and it only shows the time of arrival, not the time of day. If you don't manually change the DST setting, the arrival time will be off by an hour. Maybe that's what the original poster did not realize.

Finally have a definitive answer from the specialist at the dealer. The clock has to be set manualy (as I did) by the H & M buttons on the dash near the Nav screen. He doesn't know why Lexus put the Daylight savings in the setup as it doesn't function. End of story.

Thats exactly what we all said...

Anyways, the DST function on the nav does work on some Lexus models, my guess is that when they adjusted the operating system for the ES they just didn't hide that soft key.
