steviej Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 If the light stays on it means the driver's and passengers airbags fail. If it is flashing, then the seat belt pretensioners fail. Take it to Lexus and have them look at it. Are you still under warranty? steviej my suggestion: drive safe and don't hit anything head on until you get it looked at ASAP.
SKperformance Posted February 21, 2004 Posted February 21, 2004 could be almost anything with the srs it is a airbag system with memory ,so it records your crash data in the event of an accident for speed and ofrce of impact to be used by the police if needed. It can pin piont the problem easily. All 97 and newer vehicles have a srs gen 2 system with smart deployment for slower inflation if needed.

Do ya have Side airbags on your 99' ??? If ya lean on the sides of your seats, they light will turn on and not deploy if you get in an accident. Maybe you're sitting funny? Good luck dude, Brian
