Can I Delay The Repair Of "catalytic Converter Below Threshold&qu

Recommended Posts

I have a 1992 es300 with over 200k. I got the check engine light so I went on to check it and it turned out to be "catalytic converter below threshold". The mechanic said it would run me about 300$ to repair it. Now the thing is, I'm kind of short on cash for the moment, and I was wondering what's gone happen if I keep delaying to fix this for another month. I'm already driving on the CEL light for a month. What are my chances of driving like this for another month? I just got fuel injection and emmission flush, car drives kind of sluggish. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Could you please elaborate on what a emmision flush is? I have not heard of that term before.

George Jetson, I don't really know myself, that's just what it says on my receipt from the mechanic (fuel injenction and emmission flush). I'm afraid I'm not a car expert. I've also noticed a weird sound coming out from the hood when I turn the steering wheel left or right on park. What do you guys think?
