j4ke116 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Just wondering Which one's better and last longer?? how the the ride? comfortable or.....bumpy?? are air bags or hydraulics good....performance wise??
don corleone Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 for VIP go VIP.... get Tein coilovers or another company that makes quality product and get the Tein EDFC which allows you to raise and lower the car from inside the cabin. air bags are probly expensive to fix just like the stock air ride setup and coilovers will certainly last longer. the ride will not be a soft a hydros but customizable. this is what most Japanese get for VIP styling since these parts are made in Japan (high quality, lots of R&D, not cheap throwaway parts like Americans are used to). There is a VIPstyle forum but i forget the URL but you can google it
eatingupblacktop Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Here's a couple of vip sites: http://www.vipstylecars.com/forums/index.php http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.php?threadid=93172 And an IS site: http://my.is/forums/f136/vip-auto-salon-f-...tc-sema-373904/
LuxuryMods Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 From our experience, Air Bags can give you what you are looking for. To take it one step further, we have done a few "hybrid" setups that mount the airbag onto a coilover body to give more customization. Let me know if you need more help!
-the.k.w.c- Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 air runner and ksport make bolt on kits for air bags .......you wont go hydro ...its way to ruff and your not going to be jumping the car not to mention you will need like 12 more batteries to power everything ...air is the way to go easy bolt on soft or hard ride and its clean, by this i mean if a line breaks you wont leak oil all over your car. coil over would be my 2nd choice
SKperformance Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Hydro is not vip and is rock hard. the edfc on tein suspension is for changing the stiffness of the shocks not the height.

(I have been a minitruck builder for years and have dealt with both setups, with several trucks published) Hydros DO NOT need 12 Batteries. They can easily be ran on 2 or 3 at the most for smaller applications. (still a lot for a car though) They do ride rough if not done properly. There are acummulators you can buy that soften the ride. (I am in no way telling you that Hydros are better for the application that you are looking for cause they are not, I just simply want to clarify) Bags are gonna be a lot softer ride. With new technology they can be just as fast and effective as Hydros. Still need Compressors and such so your gonna need mounting room. VIP is like previously posted gonna be the Coilover setups. They do make these with bags now. (little more expensive and will cost a little more for maintenance).
