Loud Creek/squeek Over Speed Bumps

Recommended Posts

97 sc300. I get a loud squeek/creeking noise from the front suspension when going over speed bumps at slow speeds. The car seems to handle fine to me, but if I ever sell it this could be a problem for the buyer. What is this and what should I do. Thanks in advance for your responses!!

rmcphearson, The bushings need to be replaced to stop the squeaking, or you can spray WD-40 around the bushings. I have read somewhere on this site that it helped stop the noise. The link below explains how to replace.

I hate my control arm bushings. I was a pain to replace and they squeak like crazy when it's cold. Buy Supra TRD control arms if you can. It will stiffen the suspension a little, and won't squeak.

My mechanic changed the lower-arms with new bushings, it was cheaper than just buying the bushings and waiting for hours to get them out!

Costs me $470.00 to change both front lower arms.

I love my mechanic :P
