  1. Thanks... I've seen my mechanic, I'm good for a rack & pinions change. $450,00 all inc.
  2. Ok, I'll try to explain that the best I can. When I go straight ahead, my steering wheel is straight. If I turn right, then go straight, my steering wheel is 15° tilted to the right. If I make a left turn, then go straight ahead my steering wheel is normal again. Alignment has been made, didn't fixed the problem. When I turn the steering wheel there is no suspect sound (no "clongs" nor whatsoever). If I go straight and release the steering wheel, the car doesn't move from its trajectory... Question: Is there something to tight between the steering wheel and the rack and pinions? Is it a problem with rack and pinions? Thank you in adevance for your help T7
  3. I heard SilverStar 9006 ST were good but the lifetime is very limited! Anybody got an idea or have already tested some good stuff?
  4. Thx a lot for that great file! Anyway, problem solved... in fact (ahem) I pulled out the door panel and found out the module was unplugged... Works fine now (obviously), but thanks to all of you for the precious help provided! T7
  5. Nope, no beep, nothing, nada, rien, nieks!
  6. So, what's wrong ??? My SC got alzheimer or what?
  7. I finally found some time to fix this thing! Cable was cutted inside the rubber, made a bridge, works again! Since I hate A/C this is a big relief! !Thx for the help! :) Ted7
  8. Almost a year later and still not working :D Maybe some new member's got an idea? :whistles:
  9. Yes sorry, I used the wrong term, I was speaking of the wires that may be frayed somewhere. The buzz is coming from the window panel control. So you think I should open that rubber hose that goes from the door into the car?
  10. Hello I know the reason why it's not working, obviously the cable has broken somewhere near the door. When I open the driver's door I can open both windows, when I close the door, no windows are moving (just hear a buzzzzzz). The only thing is that I don't know where the broken cable is. I'm sure I'm not the first who had this problem, so if anyone had the same issue here, I'd like to know where to investigate. Thx in advance for any help T7
  11. JW bout that u did say when u turn it on or off. Right, I was just a little bit tired when I wrote that post ;)
  12. So, what could be the cause? Compressor ?
  13. No, the lack of power is of course when I turn the A/C on...
  14. Is it normal that I feel a serious lack of power when the AC is on or off? (SC400)
  15. Got it, it was well hidden and retracted, thx for the tip, I feel better now with all the lights working...
  16. OK, the wire snapped off from the main wire bundle. If you look to the right of the right trunk strut, you will see a black bundle of wires wrapped together in black "tape" running down the right side. The photo you have showing the wire dangling pulled away from that main wire bundle. Peel apart the wire protector and look for the cut wire in the main wire bundle. I crawled into my trunk so that I didn't have to hurt my back. Hope this info helps. My SC400 was the same way. Once I spliced the wires back together, my third brake light was back in business. When you do get the wires spliced back together, consider rerouting the wires for a looser run so that it doesn't happen again, otherwise everytime you open and close the trunk the wires are pulling apart. Thank you, I'll have a closer look at it this morning
  17. 26 views and not one answer... nobody knows what's down there ?
  18. Alright, I investigated why my goddamn third brake light wasn't working, and I found this ! Now does anybaody have any idea where is the rest of this cable ???? Where does it come from ??? Thx a lot for the answer(s)
  19. Got the same prob, need to change the leds (means taking the spoiler out)
  20. Before the SC, I drove this for 5 years, every day of the week, sunny or rainy, cold (record: 10°F) or warm (record: 105°F)... It has been the best investment ever I made I drove it for 70.000 miles and sold it the price I bought it! (even a little bit more)
  21. Thanks for the quick reply and the information. I have mechanical and soldering skills and could definitely do the repair work but I have two questions: 1) Does the display being black prevent the climate control from functioning? None of the climates control do anything. 2) I've removed four screws to remove the console trim piece but can't locate the last two near the ashtray area. Everything you need as instructions are here http://lextreme.com/tutorial/sc_installation_guide_v2_B.pdf Coming from this page here http://www.lextreme.com/lcdtech.html
  22. Check on ebay, I saw one complete set for sale actually. Mine was all black too, I just order a new LCD and replaced it myself (first time of my life I was soldering something). Works great now!
  23. Ah, but the SC and IS's are. Both of them have raced on the JGTC and Australian Grand National Circuits for a couple of years. The SCs are heavy, true, but you can reduce the weight. That's what Modification is all about, making something that's good, better. Ok, but here we are talking about full stock Lexuses going on a track-fun-day! Not a few cars can do that (I had one and it was certainly funnier than an SC)
