Hollister3
I owned a RX300 for 61/2 years. It was a perfect car. I bought a 2008 RX350 in December. I returned the car within the first 80 miles because of windshield distortion. I get dizzy and disoriented when driving it. I have had two new windshields installed all with the same problem. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
LexKid630
I don't notice anything like that in mine. I've never noticed it in any Lexus i've owned. Have you had anyone else look at it to see if they notice it?
Boxbrownie
No problems with my 03 RX Mk1.....but it's not you as I have the same problem on my wifes Ford KA....there is a patch of distortion just in my line of sight from the drivers seat....but wifey being shorter gets no problem at all..... So it does happen, I am suprised you got so many bad replacement screens though....hopefully just bad luck? Have to tried another RX at your dealers? Get them to swop the screen? :whistles: Best regards David
CanTex
You're located in Ohio, so you may have the Canadian-made model ("2" to start the VIN), so who knows what glass they're using up there or where it's coming from. Could it possibly have anything to do with seating position relative to the windshield? My Japanese-made RX350 has no problems with distortion. RB_Houston
I have a 2008 RX350, (Japan mfg.), and I have noticed a slight distortion when looking from the driver side across to the passenger side. I don't think it's severe enough to replace, but I can see how it could really bother some owners.

My old RX300 does not have this issue and it has never been a problem for me with any other car. Have you contacted anyone at Lexus other than your dealer? I purchased an new 08 RX 350 on 3/10/08 and had the windshield replaced this week. It is worse than the first one. I just wrote to Lexus Corporate to see what they will do. I want to return the car as I am very unhappy. I drove in several friends cars from 2007 and they do not have a problem. Have you taken any other actions since the 2 windshields were installed? Anyone else experiencing this issue? We've had 2 RX's, a 2004 and now the 2008. The 2008 was assembled in Canada. So far (3,000 miles) no problems of any kind. Quiet, smooth nice ride, nice finish, good gas mileage, fine in the snow. Get some cataracts and floaters, the windshield will be no problem at all. I wrote to Lexus as well by answering my survey on line. I did not get any response. If you addressed your letter to anyone in particular please let me know and I will send one to the same person. My dealer replaced my original windshield due to the distortion, but my second one is also distorted, it's terrible. I wanted to return the car (and still do) but they wouldn't take it back. It may the acoustic glass they are now using that is causing the distortion. Please let me know if you get a response.
