lexusaddict Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Ok so after having my car for 6 months, Im dying for more power. Now I know I should have bought the IS350 but for some reason my dads company wouldnt insure it. *BLEEP*s. haha So does anyone have any ideas on how to get more power out of the engine..now I know a turbo would work but thats a last resort..any other ideas?? (brands and items specifically??) thanks all!

This will increase your horsepower and make it sound nicer, but your performance still wont increase that much. Dyno it? Do some research and try to find a chip for it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't you have similar problems in insuring it with a T/C or S/C as you had with insuring a 350?
car_lost Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Here is a thread that is gauging interest for headers: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=293597 So far we have LMS and Mazzuri trying to work something out for the IS community. Show your interest there to make it happen sooner.
Rx330driver Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 the intake and exhuast will give you like 3 more horses. its not worth the money.
tonystewart Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Spray it with NOS. A number of manufacturers have lits available. A couple of them driving around Boca Raton FL right now.
Cory Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I don't know what's available for the IS250, but here's a list of basic performance upgrades - Intake Headers Exhaust Underdrive Pulleys Advanced Timing ECU/Chip Injectors/Plugs Weight Reduction (including drivetrain components) Keep in mind, a lot of these options can void your warranty, and any time you mess with your A/F mixture you should retune your car.
kisik Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 The best "mod" is to go to DRIVING SCHOOL. That would be a good investment for your dad too.

lexusaddict Posted July 19, 2007 Author Posted July 19, 2007 Actually my driving is just fine, I have no problem driving my dads 2006 Carrera Turbo S nor his 07 S65 AMG. So perhaps we can all just come to the reality that the is250 has no power and that needs to be changed.
Rx330driver Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 lol rheerrrr. anywhoo, tsounds like it wasnt a financial issue that you went with the 250. Why dont you just trade it in...it would make life a lot easier.
ryukensfj Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 The only way to really add power is with FI. But if you want just sound and a little of performane go with sri and exhaust. They complement each other very well. I have a Injen sri on a is350 and that thing sounds like a beast! It sounds like a muscle car now.
