  1. Audi's QUATTRO is by far the best AWD system available. Remember, Lexus is a REACTIVE AWD system whereas Audi uses a PROACTIVE AWD system. for more details, email me...
  2. I reccommend that you trade your car in for a IS250 AWD or an Audi Quattro...the audi's handle awesome in the snow
  3. I have worked for both Lexus and Audi doing sales at the dealerships. Here are a few points to help you decide: 1. Either 2.0T or 3.2 QUATTRO A4's will be quicker than a Lexus IS250 2. The Audi is overall a much more solid and more fun to drive car (Quattro of course, if you dont get an Audi quattro, just go for the lexus, Audi FWD is a CVT Transmission and complete trash) 3. The Lexus NAV is MUCH Better, however the Audi Bluetooth is much more intuitive and easier to use 4. Audi has Dedicated iPod connections vs. Lexus AUX Jack 5. Audi will deal (especially if you come let me take care of you down in Newport Beach..haha) 6. Lexus styling is very sleek and luxurious (I like), Audi styling is awesome now that S-Line appearance is standard...however, I LOVE the Audi S-Line TITANIUM package!!!...LOVE IT!!! 7. Even the Lexus AWD does not compare AT ALL to the Audi Quattro.... so here is the quick and easy of it... If you are a TRUE driver and enjoy driving a car for what its built for and are willing to buy the Quattro...go for the Audi HANDS DOWN...if you just want something squishy and comfortable to putt-putt around in, The lexus is great...Personally I own an IS250 and if I didnt work for lexus at the time I bought it, I'd have gone Audi 2.0T Quattro Manual Transmission in a heartbeat...
  4. I LOVE breakwater blue...I would have bought it if it was available with Black interior :(
  5. Awesome..I just wonder what kind of rediculous prices Lexus will try to charge for them and how they will stand up against other manufacturers... ...any ideas???
  6. thanks for the advice. cant wait to see the video. Anyone done anything with springs and anti-sway bars?? I know someone else out there has to hate the body roll as much as I do....
  7. You have an IS250 WITHOUT Sport Suspension and you want to make it softer?? WOW, id probably fall sleep if it were any softer. Perhaps you have sport suspension and didnt realize it? I wasnt aware it was offered on the IS250 until I bought mine and found out it was available by special order...I would have waited 90 days to order it. Anybody else have any experience w/ suspension products that can help me?!!?
  8. I know that some companies recently released new springs, sway bar kits (anti-roll bars), and a few other suspension products to help firm up the ride of the IS (IS250 w/o sport suspension option). Has anybody purchased/installed any of these suspension mods?? Advise pleace..I NEED to kill this body roll!! Cheers!!
  9. hopefully ZERO...if you order a car the way you want it, you should be able to afford it...at the dealer I work at, if you order a car its an MSRP deal.
  10. Now there, did you read my post above?? I have to stand with you in saying sometimes I sound like a Meguiars salesperson but damn, their stuff really is the best. Awesome job..I applaud you for taking care of your OWN car unlike many other lexus owners who take it to the nearest Joe-shmo wash and have someone do it for them with who knows what products/pads/towels. YAY!
  11. I have a 2007 IS250 and have noticed considerable body roll and that the car just drives so darn soft and squishy. When I bought it I had asked about a Sport Suspension which the guy told me was available on the 250 as a special order only and was optional on the 350. Now it is an option for 2008 on both cars. Has anyone done any work to firm up their suspension on their IS and to help eliminate the body roll through turns?? HHHEEEEEELLLLPPPP! Thanks!
  12. here is some advice...do this ENTIRE process once over then just rewash and wax as needed to keep the paint glossy and smooth... first of all...NEVER let anyone wash your car other than yourself. 1. wash the car with Meguiars car wash, cool clean water and use a soft wool mit. 2. I reccommend MEGUIARS pro products whenever possible 3. dry the car using a CLEAN SOFT chamois 4. CLAY BAR your car, use the Meguiars kit if you can find it or order it online. this will remove all the impurities in your paint and any pollen/fallout in the paint and clearcoat 5. use a good scratch remover (IE: Meguiars Scratch X) applied with a soft applicator and removed with microfiber cloths. 6. apply a GOOD HIGH QUALITY CLEAR COAT WAX such as Meguiars Gold Class car wax which is great for clear coat metallic cars. After this you should wash the car as needed and wax about every other month, depending on where you live you will want to clay bar the car every 4-6 months or whenever your paint isnt smooth even after waxing. Good luck, let me know if you have more questions!
  13. I took my car in for service at Newport Lexus, what an amazing dealership. From the design, service, facilities...etc wow! They also have ES and RX Loaners but they also have quite a few IS350 loaners...no IS250's Sorry :( They only have one with the HKS exhaust though, and wow..sounds awesome, Ive been calling all the HKS authorized dealers in socal and the best pricing seems to be through Dynamic Autosports in Lake Forest with a parts price of around $600 and labor around $175 compared to the dealer parts price of $1470 and labor of $250.
  14. Ok so I got a new IS250 from the parentals back in february and have never had the chance or wanted to tempt myself with driving the IS350 since I knew I wouldnt want my 250 after that. haha. So this week I took my car in for the 10,000 mile service/Brake Pad TSIB thing and the Loaner car they gave me was a 2007 IS350 with the Sport Suspension and HKS Sport Exhaust...WOW!!!! I WANT ONE!! The suspension feels so much more tight and responsive than my soft squishy 250 and that Sport exhaust cosmetically and sound wise just rounds out the beautiful package that is the IS350...I am going to look into trading mine in but not until the BMW 135i comes out since thats another rocket ship I want to test... so now im sad and bummed and going to try to find ways to make my car bareable..ie: sway bars, suspension mods, exhaust, rear spoiler...those kinds of things. haha.
  15. My first car was a 2001 Lexus IS300 that I got when I turned 16... Then after my first year of college I traded it in for a 2005 Lexus IS300 with the same options just new color... ..and now im on a 2007 IS, so I guess you can say the Lexus IS and I are like peas and carrots....16years old to 22 and never done me wrong!!
  16. Here is the Cure: 1. wash your car with good soap like MEGUIARS 2. clay bar your car. (you will need to buy a clay bar kit which includes the clay and a quick detailer spray) 3. wax the car with a good clear coat wax (ie: Meguiars gold class wax) I have used meguiars pro products for all my cars i have ever had and its by far the best. you can visit their website if you need to know what these prodcuts are. also, remember your car is black so use THE SOFTEST CLOTH you can..usually microfiber Good Luck, let me know how it goes
  17. Ok I know we all want the best deal and the UNDER INVOICE stuff and blah blah blah..but people please remember that every time you try to grind away at price, youre basically giving someone a pay cut..so try to be reasonable..i mean we dont go to nordstrom and buy a $300 shirt for $225 plus taxes just because we want a deal. :-D
  18. I work for an Audi/Porsche/Bentley dealership in South OC and just want to put some rest to it. NO you cannot just order a car out of the air. each dealership is allocated a certain number of each car for a particular time frame ie: 300 IS250 RWD for each 3months (or whatever the number is), out of those you look at how many orders you have and fill those then they order the left over cars the way they think their customers want them. If you do not get your order in before the building begins for that allocation period, then you wait for the next one OR sometimes they can do a change request if its not to late and change another car (ie: a GS for an IS), just depends on what the dealer wants to do. also....MOST of the time if you special order a car, you do pay MSRP..however, so long as your request is not unreasonable such as an ordered car AT or $500 over invoice, most of the time they will still deal with you. HOWEVER, i am hearing that on the mark levinson cars they are happy to let customers walk away if they dont want to pay MSRP because they know that someone else will. Happy hunting...
  19. I know there are probably a whole bunch of people out there with aftermarket rims on their IS. I am looking into getting new 18 or 19inch rims for my car (2007 IS250, Tungsten Pearl) and would appreciate if people could post some of their pictures so I can narrow down what looks good and what doesnt. Thanks a Million!!
  20. I noticed the same thing when I was shopping for my 2007 IS250. But then again I wanted the 250 w/ nav, 18" and XM. The sticker price on my car was just a hair shy of $39,000 and ended up getting it at Crown Lexus in Ontario (granted I live in Newport). The price I got on it was $32,986 plus fees. so about $37,500 Out the door which is great considering youre still out the door with ALL The options at LESS THAN STICKER!! I just have to say, I work for Audi/Porsche/Bentley in OC and thats a smokin' deal!!
  21. Actually my driving is just fine, I have no problem driving my dads 2006 Carrera Turbo S nor his 07 S65 AMG. So perhaps we can all just come to the reality that the is250 has no power and that needs to be changed.
  22. Ok so after having my car for 6 months, Im dying for more power. Now I know I should have bought the IS350 but for some reason my dads company wouldnt insure it. *BLEEP*s. haha So does anyone have any ideas on how to get more power out of the engine..now I know a turbo would work but thats a last resort..any other ideas?? (brands and items specifically??) thanks all!
  23. I bought my car here in southern california, and breakwater blue w/ black interior was my first choice..however I was told that those color combos are not available in most parts of the US. So I assume most of us have never seen one...as for me, I will have nothing but black leather so I settled for good ole silver. :(
