I have a 1990 es-250. It idles really smoothly and runs great at any rpm range except between 1700-2000 rpm. It is like there is a dead spot. I have changed plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, vacuum hoses, and I ran fuel injection cleaner through it. If you have any suggestions I would be grateful.

thoroughly clean the throttle body (TB) and look for cracks or pinpoint holes in the air tube leading from the air box to the TB.

yes check what they said and also clean the throttle body real good with some throttle body cleaner (a big can).take off the tube and spray real good on the plate and also open the throttle all the way and spray alot in there.if its real dirty you will see black come out of it!

what exactly does it do in that rpm range while driving?does it bog out like you toke your foot off the gas?
