This might be a silly question. :huh:

Is it possible change head light socket from 9004 type to H4 or H7?

Because now the H4, H7 light bulb are popular, and easy to get.

Thanks! :P

Yes it is possible.

not kidding, my 1990 LS400 has H4 on driver side and HB1 (9004) on the other side. Both 2 head lamp assembly are OEM

Thanks qha_vn

It's good to hear this, now I have chance to select a better light bulb. :)

Let us know how this goes--hopefully it's just a matter of trimming the tabs.

The driver side headlight may be from an 93-94 LS400 if it uses an H4 bulb.

so H4 is an improvement over HB1????

i myself find H4 the better choice in terms of popularity, would consider replacing HB1 side (around 250 bucks)

250 buck? that should be the whole lamp assmbly right?

I just want to modify the socket to fit in H4 bulb only, cost should not more than 10~20 bulk;

Is it possible? :blushing:
