godpossessed
The driver's side valve cover gasket seems to be leaking onto my exhaust manifold. How hard is the fix to do? thanks Mark
blake918
Mark, it's not diffiult at all. You are basically just removing the timing belt cover, setting a couple rubber hoses to the side, moving the spark plug wires aside, and you have very easy access to the bolts that hold the valve cover on. djspawn00
Its not the hardest thing to do if you're handy just remember where each part goes back and don't overtighten anything, use the correct amount of torque for your application. qha_vn
when doing the sealing for your valve cover, check the PCV valve as well to make sure it is not stuck close resulting in unnecessary high pressure inside the engine that may lead to oil leaking
9779
Glad to hear how easy this is. I am about to have to change my gaskets as well. Are there any good manuals out there that I can get to help me with this and other repairs? I just bought a 97 LS400 and would like to do as much of the work as I can.
