That polisher he is using is a porter cable 7424 dual polisher with what appears to be a 5" all purpose pad. It is a very popular random orbiting sander/polisher. I have one, with a series of pads and polishes you can remove swirl marks, scratches (not down to metal of course) and bring out an amazing shine. They are relatively inexpensive, for under $300 I was able to buy the polisher, 6 pads, and a series of polishes from abrasive to less abrasive to accomplish removal of swirls in my Black 2002 Lexus es300. If it warms up I will shoot some pics. by the way, the car looks great! What did he charge for the detail and did it include the inside?
mburnickas Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Not ONR or Lc pads! How dare he! LOL side note, MODS might want to move to correct forum. (show/shine or detail?)
steviej Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 side note, MODS might want to move to correct forum. (show/shine or detail?) gee Mike, you really think so? :P relax, just playin' with ya, I was getting to it. asad, when can I bring my ES over to your detailing shop to be done? steviej
that boy asad Posted October 27, 2006 Author Posted October 27, 2006 he charged me 200 for full exterior/interior detail (the renewal package)... and 15 to wetsand, polish, and buff my headlights. here is a pic i took yesturday:
SW03ES Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Lookin good! I'm a little confused as to why he used the PC to apply Zaino though. Zaino is a very thin sealant, and in my experience using the PC is harder than just applying it by hand and you waste product that way.

My captions were wrong, he only used the PC to do the compound polish/cleaner polish
SW03ES Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Makes more sense. Oh and Zaino is not a wax, its a sealant ;)
that boy asad Posted October 29, 2006 Author Posted October 29, 2006 Makes more sense. Oh and Zaino is not a wax, its a sealant ;) ahh... i see!!! thanks, this is why i paid some1 to detail my car
SW03ES Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Even for pros its hard to figure out what all these different products actually are, theres no standardization among manufacturers about whats a "wax", a "sealant", a "polish" etc.
