I am having a problem with my rear window defroster. For some reason it does not defrost the window at all. It used to but it doesn't anymore. I have had this problem for a while and have never done or said anything about it. I know the rear defroster and the outside mirrors are connected. The Mirrors de-frost/fog but the window doesn't do anything. Has anyone had this happen before? The rear window is tinted and has been ever since I bought the car 4 years ago.

I have kinda similar problem - it takes forever to defog the rear window... Maybe it's just because I get too much condensation down here in SoCal

The alternator is good as of 3 months ago when I had my battery troubleshot for problems. They said something about checking the alternator and it was ok. I didn't check the fuse because I figured that if the mirrors defrost and the light comes on, then the fuse is fine. Where on the window do I check for voltage and what values am I looking for?

I would start with the fuses. On my 02 ES, they are separate fuses.

#44 is the outside rear view mirror heaters (10 amp)

#64 is the rear window defogger (40 amp).

may sound stupid, but make sure the connectors are making a good clean connection to the rear window...i have seen them come off before!
