Obd-2 Scanner, Which One?

Recommended Posts

Folks,

I considering buying a scanner.  I'd like to get some guidance/opinions.  Which brand to get?  What about the type that is windows based (seem to cost twice as much but has nice features?

Also, where is the connection to attach the scanner on a 2001 gs430?

TIA

I like the snapon or mac one. I considered buying one till I saw the prices. Autotap is supposed to be very good.

The 1st manual of all lexus manuals is drivetrain the second is body , trim and other electrical.

All obd 2 ports on every single car is located at 2 points

one on the engine and the other in the area of the drivers knees.

Wow, $790 seems steep. I was thinking about the PC version autotap or AutoEnginuity for around $200, but don't know if i'll use all it's features. Then again i don't even know waht feature to use.

If I go with the $50-100 one, which brand?

TIA All!
