viclykewhoa Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 I read that a loose vacuum line can cause the low idle that I am experiencing. Approximately 350-400 rpm when stopped at a red light in Drive. Lex, what do you think? Where are the vacuum lines?
SKperformance Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 A vacuum leak can cause every possible problem depending on which one it is ,you have about 30 hoses on the engine. They are the black hoses going from part to part. A low idle problem should be started to troubleshoot by cleaning the throttle body to make sure the iacv is working properly.
TurboGS300 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Might help if we knew WHAT YEAR GS you had, since there are some differences!

I'm a newbie when it comes to cars so do you know where I could get instructions to clean the throttle body? I'm trying to learn how to maintain my car myself; I greatly appreciate the relevant comments posted like yours.
SKperformance Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Do a search in all forums or google as it is not car specific. There you will find the process of cleaning a throttle body which is rather simple ,usually 2 screws and you can see it then spray the can slowly .

StreetLegal-ish3 Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 My car tends to have a rough idle at red lights... not all the time, just randomly... would that be a loose hose somewhere>/?
