JeffR
I tried searching and didnt find anything that really answered my question. I know it is excessively expensive to add a nav system to a GS300 that didnt come with one originally. In fact, my local dealership quoted me a stratospheric $14,000 to do it. That leaves me with aftermarket options. I wonder if people here who have added a nav system might tell me what their solution was, and maybe even post a pic of their solution so I can see what it ended up looking like. Any suggestions are most appreciated.

dcfish
So it wasnt just me looks like, there apparently isnt a really good solution for the GS300. ← Nav is available for your GS. The exact factory replacement like the one that would have been ordered when new. Interested? PM or EM me.
xrobevansx
How about getting a double DIN adapter in place of your stock stereo head unit, then getting a replacement head unit in one DIN and one of those 1 DIN GPS Nav systems in the other DIN? The entire conversion might run....$2000 tops if you look around.
Neo
Talk to dcfish if you want an OEM solution for MUCH less than $14k. :) Otherwise, look into Eclipse (OEM for Lexus), Pioneer, and Kenwood. They all have flush mount all in one double din nav units.
JeffR
I have the Mark Levinson system, does that make a difference? I read somewhere that the amp is different for Mark Levinson systems. I will try to find something about Eclipse. Thanks.

As soon as possible. The Eclipse are made by Fujitsu Ten who also makes the current Lexus Nav. This is probably as close to OEM as you are going to get without gettin OEM. :)

micnn
If all you want is a nav system, I'd also suggest a bare bone GPS unit. I use Garmin's Nuvi 350. The unit is mounted on the center console using ProClip's mounting kit. Some of the latest GPS units adapt SIRF technology which significantly improve the satellite reception. Neo
here link to whole nav kit for cheap in ebay nav system This is a 98-00 HD based system, though. I am not sure how well it will work but it would be going backwards for his 01-05 GS.
