  1. How about getting a double DIN adapter in place of your stock stereo head unit, then getting a replacement head unit in one DIN and one of those 1 DIN GPS Nav systems in the other DIN? The entire conversion might run....$2000 tops if you look around.
  2. Did a quick Ebay search and found many offers: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/madmen/lightsout.asp one in NYC: http://www.woodtonetrim.com/ebay_html/PhotoGallery.htm I was wondering if anyone used these types of kits and their thoughts on them. How do they look? Easy to install?
  3. Jeremy- What other boards? Lexus-related? Anyway, let's compare notes. email me: xrobevansx AT yahoo DOT com Got mine with 96K (might have been 98K...can't remember) for 4 grand in basically excellent condition (with the exception of the drivers seat leather seams are split down the middle.) From my mother in law. She bought a G35 coupe. I need to get 100K service soon and I don't think all services were done the last two scheduled services, so I have a big one coming up. (timing belt, seals, tune up, belts, filters, etc) Fun, fun. Good luck, Rob
  4. Jeremy- I have the same model/year. Any luck with finding 1st gen 300 resources?
  5. ECT Switch...will I get better mileage in NORMAL? I am not a racey/fast driver necessarily, but I do hit it once in a while to get into traffic, etc.
  6. Couldn't find anything for that high of mileage. I will look again.
  7. Until the next dumb question.I Is there a list of scheduled service that should be done on a 1994 GS300 after appx 99K miles? Is there a "BIGGIE" at 100K? Is there a list somewhere I can reference to get the correct services done? Thanks, Rob in NJ
  8. Make that a 1994 (woops) I am used to filling my 91 Civic with regular. I did the same the other night with the Lexus. Will it matter? I saw on the dash: "PREMIUM FUEL ONLY" (or similar) What should I use? What do you use?:whistles: PS-I didn't mean to start WW4 by asking about octane. I honestly don't know.
  9. I JUST DID THIS (see my post "new to lexus") I used an eyeglass screwdriver, and yes I ran it around the two halves slowly and wiggled it a bit to pry the halves apart. No harm done. You can probably do it too. :D
  10. Thanks Win. My car needs a little work (leather mostly), but it's really in great shape. Can't wait to talk with others in the same boat. Rob PS- I used to have a CRX and the community for that car was awesome. I can only imagine Lexus owners are as helpful/friendly.
  11. Hey guys! Thanks for all the help! Seriously, you've been great. Anyway, I am an idiot. I noticed in the MANUAL that there was a switch to turn the remote feature on and off. It was conveniently "off". I turned it "on" and the keys work fine. Which still leaves me in the dark as far as the stereo is concerned. Anyone want to jump in and help? Anyone? Bueller? Rob in NJ
  12. Couple of questions: (BTW- 1994 GS300) 1. My remote keys don't work. I replaced the batteries with no luck. Could the codes have been "wiped" or something? Can I reprogram them to open the doors? 2. I would like to get a new stereo. Can I get a double DIN sized head unit and get a bezel-type of thing to make it fit? I don't want a single DIN sized unit. I can't stand that look of a small head unit on top and a "pocket" below it. To me it looks weird. Thanks in advance and I look forward to interacting with you all soon! Rob Evans NJ
