stonecutter Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 I don't remember reading anything about it in the manual, but how can I turn off the DRL without shutting the engine while in "Park". The car is 2005 RX330. Thanks for any help.
SKperformance Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 like every other car with DRl's turn the car off press the E brake start the car until you turn off the ebrake the lights will stay off
stonecutter Posted September 19, 2005 Author Posted September 19, 2005 like every other car with DRl's turn the car off press the E brake start the car until you turn off the ebrake the lights will stay off ← Thanks, turning the car off and back on got the result I was looking for. But I discovered that it wasn't the e brake that controls the DRL (at least not by itself), the DRL comes on when I first shift out of park, after releasing the e brake. Now a related question is, is there a way to turn off the DRL without cycling the ignition ? If not, then I think this is an oversight of Lexus designers, because there are many circumstances I can think of where its undesirable to have the DRL on while parked with engine on.
91L3xus Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 All I could do to remedy that was to remove the DRL fuse in the engine bay. My mom wasn't happy that I was taking fuses out of my car, but then again, I'm the one who drives it. Lol.
