sox and martin Posted November 21, 2004 Posted November 21, 2004 I can only open 3 doors when using either the interior switches or by using the key on the driver's side. The passenger front door lock will not operate unless I use the key in that door. I can lock or unlock all 4 from that point. I wonder if anyone has seen this? I have attempted to remove the door panel to have a look. This proved to be very difficult when it came to removing the cup around the inteior door latch mechanism. Any help here would be appreciated.
SKperformance Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 Does the lock motor on that door make any noise? it is either a bad wire, motor or the clip is broken th cup just pulls out around the handle
sox and martin Posted November 22, 2004 Author Posted November 22, 2004 The lock motor is silent. I may have to obtain a schematic to be able to test for power to the motor. I am assuming that when the key is used in that door it is mechanically moving the mechanism and not electrically. Thank you for your thoughts on this.
SKperformance Posted November 22, 2004 Posted November 22, 2004 no problem. actually it is built into the lock cylinder not the motor to sense unlock/lock movements
spx12345 Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Hi sox and martin, I am having the same problem on my 99 RX300 on the driver side door. Were you able to fix the problem? If yes Can you please let us know how you fixed it. I don't hear any motor noise. Thank you.
nk0055 Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Same poblem on my 02 rx300. Appreiated if you could please let us know the problem and the cost to fix.
lenore Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Sounds like the door lock assembly.....$250 for the part.....Labor I dont know.... I changed mine myself was tricky finding the hidden screws under the switch plate, but after that went smooth....
raymsixsix Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I had a similar problem on my 01 GS, it was the door actuator. The part was around $300 on ebay
