BigIron44 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I have a 2021 RX350. Owners manual states to use regular gasoline rated as 'top tier'. Accordingly, I exclusively use Marathon regular gasoline. Occassionally I will add a bottle of Heet or STP fuel additives to a tank of gas. I really don't know if there's any benefit to using the additives. Also of note, I do not live in a cold weather climate. I use Heet occassionally because it is supposed to eliminate any water in the fuel. Comments/suggestions are welcomed.
RX400h Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 I've been adding Chevron Techron at every oil change. It should help to keep the valves clean. So far, no problems.
dcfish Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Just be aware of possible catalytic converter issues....Been down that road.
joe33 Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 I would just do as the manual says to do. nothing more, the engineers know better than you and others, also it may void warranty.
Lexus-CT Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Mostly Shell 98 octane, now and then BP also 98. Engine no poblems. Used additives 30 years ago.
Lexus-CT Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 At every gasoline station in town. Maybe 20 Shell and 15 BP plus all the other brands. All except the very cheap Petromax where they only have 95 but it is cheap 1.1€/L. 98 is around 1.34€ You must calculate yourself as we have no gallons. At the airport price is often 10% higher so they can make a bit extra on the tourists when they fill the rented car up. 3 hours ago, dcfish said: 98 octane ? Where at the Airport ?
Lexus-CT Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 1 hour ago, dcfish said: I wish we could have 98 here... And I thought you have everything in the US. If the elevator stops; take the steps. If you can open the door of the elevator.
