sunman
I get a humming sound at high speed. Faster than 75mph. It keeps fading in and out. Can it be a wheel bearing?
ArmyofOne
it could be, but i would look elsewhere first. how fast is the interval? a second? is it a slow trasition from whine to no whine?
SKperformance
To test a noisy bearing just turn a bit left and a bit right and keep doing it at higher speeds to listen for a change in the noise increase/decrease.
sunman
the whine to no while is about 2-3 seconds.
ArmyofOne
well its not likely a belt, it would be going faster than that, same with a bearing, although i have heard bearings sound like that...i wouls do what SK suggests. if that yeilds no results, check/clean your IAC valve...how many miles do you have on your ES?
