Need Help To Move On Tires/wheels

I looked at a set of 18" Enkei chrome 5 spokes today. I like the wheels.

The shop (I have a good feeling about and was referred to by a friend) suggested a set of Toyo Proxes FZ4s to go on the wheels.

They are supposed to be quiet, good in rain, and the number one tire sold today.

Anyone ever ride on Toyo Proxes?

I told him about what I heard of Toyos and he said they have had problems with the OEM tire they sold to dealers but not the Proxes.

The package looks sweet, I just need a push.

sorry stevie

fz4's are real crappy

i found them noisy ( this is on a 300zx show car with aa very loud exhaust)

low on grip ( especially when really driving)

and just not a very good tire in anyway

the t1-s are much better

but don't you live in the north east

where it snows?

but i guess you are getting it for the rims which are summers

dunlops p9000 i think, are very good

the t1-s are the best tire to me but kinda pricey

kuhmos are ok but alot better than a fz4 and cheaper

good luch and which enkie are you going to get?

Enkei LM 1/5S

yes, I live outside of Boston.

no, the tires/wheels are not intended for fall/winter use. The stock 16" will be used for that. However, I will have to be extra careful of potholes, those we have year round.

The T1-S were a little bit more expensive, too much for me to even consider doing this mod. I have heard that the T1-S don't last that long either.

On CL, I have 3 responces very much in favor of the FZ4. I may just go with it and see. I will have 30 days to change my mind and either trade up to T1-S (pay the money or course) or try another brand.

The shop I'm going to does sell Dunlops, too, so I will keep your recommendation in mind.

thanks.

I will post pics on the Sat. coming.

yah it is true the t1-s do wear a bit faster but under regualr driving they last a while

when not pushed to any limits

i still say stay the hell away from fz4's not worth the price

the kuhmo 712's are much cheaper and a way better tire only problem i really had was the sidewals strted to buldge from potholes and being on 18's as they are kinda heavy

fz4 are toyo entry sport tire

they are made for cheap entry into the aftermarket performance tires and are no where near anything else that toyo makes which is strange

falkens make a good tire

but have not ridin in a car long enough to tell characteristics

Town Fair Tire sells the Dunlop 9000s also.

He said they are actually harder than the FZ4s. The ride quality of the Toyo's is supposed to be quieter and softer.

My !Removed! will be the final judge by end of week next.

I will post. I will have 30 days to decide/return at no money lost.
