Lex3486 Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 I noticed this morning that my wipers refused to go back into their hole after I'd used them. Could it be that my motor is dying? With a little help from my hand they went down, but they couldn't do it on their own. This is the first time it's ever happened...they still operate normally other than that though...
SKperformance Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 It might be the motor or the contacts in the motor itself I had mine replaced years ago under warrenty because tehy would not go back under the hood ,they kept stopping halfway on the windsheild
steviej Posted August 24, 2004 Posted August 24, 2004 the wipers have two positions, exposed and retracted. It's in the manual. Somehow they may have been moved into the exposed position. You physically move them between the two poitions with your hand. The exposed is designed for winter use, to aid in snow removal. The retracted postiton puts the blades just under the edge of the hood. steviej
amf1932 Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 In the '93ES you have to change the position of the connector on the wiper motor to make it either retract fully or above the hood. It's not a mechanical operation like it is on the newer ES's. I don't know how this connector position changed by itself, so it could possibly be what SK said in the above post.
Lex3486 Posted August 27, 2004 Author Posted August 27, 2004 Nah, they're in summer mode. I guess they just got lazy because they work fine now. Just that one time they didn't wanna work right...weird. <_<
