silkiechicken Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 so... i have a bottle of fuel injector cleaner... should I or should I not use it? i have a 93 sc with 110k mi on it... would it have any benifit at all or is it just a waste of effort? the car is fine running, just wondering if it will help anything, like gas milage (i get 15-17 mpg while trying to keep the rev's under 2000 rpm!). should i follow the dont fix it if its not broke idea? thanks
JDOwen2 Posted June 12, 2004 Posted June 12, 2004 Shouldn't hurt if you add it to a full tank. Try Seafoam, new plugs, cap, rotor, and spark plug cables and the BFI intake mod to get 20 mpg. I did! ;)
bean_8044 Posted June 13, 2004 Posted June 13, 2004 It works, but dont keep using it. Once a month is pushing it from what i understand. The chemicals contained with the cleaner arent exactly friendly to an engine for long-term use. Once in a while is fine, but when that stuff starts to sit in the car for a long period of time its not good
blueviol Posted June 14, 2004 Posted June 14, 2004 Even with 200K+ miles on my 95 SC400, I am getting 22 MPG normally (once 26 over 500 mile highway trip) after modifying the intake with K&N intake (costs $70 at eBay). Try it and it's worth the investment. Better HP, torque, and mileage!!!
