Looks like new gasket all around - water standing in drivers side trunk pocket with no visible source? no moisture to feel in side and rear verticle panels. Any ideas? is this a common issue? Just bought 3 months ago and love the car.

yeah, wish I lived in salt free state. But this year, (unusual stretch of nice weather), I did have a long summer and many nice days to drive it top down and stereo playing. I saw a 2004 Pebble Beach in Pearl Azure blue and cream leather and black wood, at a local store with its top down and had to say I fell in love again. ...lol

2023 Lexus ES250 hissing noise
Natty Bumppo replied to krishna m's topic in 2019 - Present ES250 / ES300h / ES350 / ES350h
Do you have AC ventilated seats option? I do on my 2021 ES350 with the Premium package that includes the AC cooled seats option and also heard a hissing background sound when the engine started. Turned out to be the AC seat fan that was on and did not know about the option since 1st time to own a Lexus. I turned off AC seat option on the dashboard selection and sound gone. -

Drain &Fill Transmission Fluid Change Question
RX400h replied to jonathandlee1's topic in General Chat
I agree that this would be a cautious approach, although I know quite a few people who have over 100,000 miles on their auto transmissions without any signs of issues. My son changed had his 2012 Mazda 3 transmission fluid changed at 100,000 miles. It had never and is not now having any problems. Our 19.5 year-old RX400h now has over 140,000 miles on it. The service booklet recommends changing the transmission fluid only if the vehicle is regularly driven in the desert, dirt roads, and/or to tow a trailer (up to 3500 lbs), I believe. Most likely, we have already had the fluid changed at least once. Of all the auto manufacturers, I would say that Toyota/Lexus is the least likely to engineer their vehicles to fail after the warranty expires if no maintenance schedule for a fluid change is listed. - Last week

2005 Lexus LS 430: Battery drains overnight. Battery, alternator and charging system are all good. Auto door lock system locks all doors except driver side. Perhaps actuator issue or some electrical issue for driver side door lock. Can that explain battery drain? I can manage with manual locking. Will the car still function if I take the fuse #5 (7.5 Amp for Tilt & telescoping steering, power door lock system, power seat system, engine immobilizer system) out ?

I had the exact same problem. 2023 certified pre owned with 8500~ miles. Mine was able to be jump started and the dealer put in a new battery. That was a week ago and so far so good. BTW you're not locked out. I had all of the windows up and found that on the bottom of the door handle there's a small lever you can use to open the door. Mine was in the garage so the car wasn't locked and I was able to open the door then the hood and the tow truck driver was able to jump start it. I don't know what happens if the doors are locked but before I found the small lever, the tow truck driver was going to use his Slim Jim to open the door.

The catalytic converter was stolen over night in front of a house. The shop put a cage on for ~$400. I think some shops would have put it on for ~$200 if I also got the insurance claim to fix the cat with them too so they might pocket some money there... call around I guess... You can also do a straight pipe but you would fail a visual inspection if they knew what to look for. The cage I got put on mad a lot of noise. It was from the cat rattling against it during certain driving, and I ended up taking it back for them to adjust it. Now it's Okay.

My '06 LS430 is in excellent condition except that the tan leather driver-side front seat needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The foam core is no longer supportive or cushy, and has clearly passed its natural life-cycle. The leather that covers the driver seat is in tact - with the exception of a small tear in the left front corner-section of the seat. Does anyone have any experience with rebuilding. reupholstering, or finding a replacement seat for this model?

Hello I'm new to this forum, I have an issue with my car I bought recently, the issue is when I come to a full stop then try to accelarate again it would jerk like someone hit me from behind, also a few times I've noticed the car become very sluggish when accelerating. I checked the transmission tempearture it maxed out at 83 Celsius (181.4 Fahrenheit). There is no check engine light and no ATP Warning light. I greased the driveshafts I still get the jerking. When shifting I do hear a slight clunk noise coming from where the driveshaft connects to the transmission. The previous owner told me they changed the transmission fluid only after I asked if they did change it as I did notice a little bit of a hesitation. I also have this clunk sound even after I greased up the driveshafts

Last Sunday I noticed an issue where the R and D educators light up at the same time regardless of which mode I’m in. Park and neutral, and 123 all work normally. I can start the car and both park and neutral. The reverse camera is in operation in both drive and reverse, which was a little disconcerting - I can manually switch to the info screen I got a 0705 check code. other research suggests maybe NSS failure or possible other ground issue. this all started a week ago. I ordered a replacement NSS (OEM is like $150 I got Amazon for $25) problem today is indicators are working normally! although the fault code still comes in. has anyone encountered this?
