spatel0169 Posted October 29, 2004 Posted October 29, 2004 I am a new 2002 Lexus ES300 owner and have the following dillem with a couple of keys I recevied from the (private) seller ... 1) First Key is what they described as '89785-50030-RK Non-Remote Master Key' at lexus-parts ... http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetail.asp?...ubCategoryID=22 This key has no remote buttons but starts the engine, opens glove box and rear seat access lock to the trunk in my car. 2) The second Key is what they described as '89070-53530-RK Master Remote Key' ... http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetail.asp?...ubCategoryID=22 Now this key has remote buttons (which work perfectly) however it does NOT start the engine or open glove box or trunk. Question: Can I use First key to program the second one and if yes then how can I do that? I have found a few programming step in others thread but am confused which one will really work for my car. Thanks in advance.
SW03ES Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Thats strange, they should come totally programmed. Did you try emailing Darryl at lexus-parts.com? I'm not sure if you can program the start yourself.
spatel0169 Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 No, both the keys came from the private owner (not lexus-parts) I just showed lexus-parts.com to give the members an idea of what keys I was talking about. I hear there are seperate programs, one for starting the engine and another for the remote buttons. What wondering if anybody ever was able to do the first (starting the engine) one successfully. Thanks.
lexusk8 Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 Not sure if this will help anyone, but my '01 ES at the time of purchase only came with one master key I had to order a spare valet key (non-remote) from Daryll of Lexus-parts.com, one of the few Lexus dealers who sell OEM parts at discounted prices (I highly recommend them, great service!). I got the key, then followed the programming instructions that can be found in this forum (in my case, I went by the instructions on ClubLexus.com). The valet key worked successfully so it can open doors and start the car :D
spatel0169 Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 This program one worked like a charm for my 2002 Lexus ES300 ... To duplicate a key: 1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time. 2. Insert existing master key into ignition.(DO NOT TURN) 3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times. 4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key. 5. Within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition. 6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time. At this time the security light starts blinking. 7. After 45 to 60 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off (stops blinking). 8. Remove new key and try starting the car. Thanks.
mrsel3 Posted October 31, 2004 Author Posted October 31, 2004 Is there any chance this will mess up the key or the car??? mrsel3 Posted October 31, 2004 Author Posted October 31, 2004 just did it, worked like a charm thanks!!!!! how do i get the buttons to work on the new key, it starts the engine fine, but the alrm buttons do not work. thank you
spatel0169 Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 Try this for keyless button programming but make sure your wife and children aren't seeing you do this or they'll seriously start doubting your sanity! I haven't personally tried these instructions but some people have reported it worked for them. Good Luck ... Sit in the driver's seat and lock all the doors. Unlock and open the driver's door. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it (don't turn it...just remove it). Using the MANUAL lock switch on the driver's door, lock and unlock the door 5 times. Close the door. Open the door. Lock and unlock the driver's door 5 times (I'm almost certain you use the MANUAL lock switch again, but if this sequence fails to work, try again with the power switch). Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position. Remove the key. The driver's door will now lock and unlock itself one time. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least 1 second. Close the driver's door. Open the driver's door. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least one second. Close the driver's door. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob. The door will lock. Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob again. The door will unlock. You should be all set.
steviej Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 how do you program the key for the "trunk button", "the double strike to kill the lights", and "the hold the button for a long time and all the windows and sunroof open". Oh yeah, when programming the lock function, does this automatically program the PANIC feature. This key is capable of all these functions. steviej
spatel0169 Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Yes. Although I haven't tried these personally I think it would program all buttons.
