I have a 20/6 RX350 with navigation and backup camera. Would like to upgrade the the unit to include Apple CarPlay. Any recommendations on how best to get this upgrade?

Have no idea what this Enform is, but reason for shutting down 2 and 3 G network is money. Later 4 G will go same way as 5G is what is in most mobile phones. Probably the CT does not have any of these luxury features (or does it?) as you are now losing with 3G shutting down in the US. Germany stopped 3G 2021 from most providers in order to sell more new phones. Also, I do not know if a 2017CT model has 2 – 3 or 4G, but when rarely turning on navigation it still shows which street, we are driving in so maybe all is functioning. Still, I do think that Lexus/Toyota should try to make customers happy by offering reasonably priced upgrades when needed. Only happy customers are returning customers. 5G must be cheap to get as even the cheap of new smartphones are running on that, but maybe wiring and antennas are so different on various models that it will not be a simple thing to change. Anyway, navigation is so poor in the cars that any smartphone has better and offer free upgrade that the reason to use navigation in the cars is not the best option. -
Hello all Has anyone upgraded from GEN1 to GEN3, replacing ONLY the DVD ROM ?? Its a direct retro-fit ?? Is necessary to replace the Front Screen ? Thanks for your time Jose in Portugal

I want to upgrade the factory stereo of my 2008 Lexus RX400H. I believe it has the navigation package, and no ML Audio. From my research so far, the GROM VL2 Infotainment system looks like what I should get. Seems to pack all the features I need, but I'm curious whether anyone can confirms it actually works with my vehicle.

I have a 2004 GX 470 with the original Navigation DVD. Other than getting updated maps, are there any other upgrades (new features) with the latest Navigation DVD (part # = PT219GEN23-10). Thank you in advance!

Has anyone upgraded the screen in the rear view mirror for the backup camera? The screen on the 2011 RX 350 is so small. Wondering about an after market mirror with a larger screen area or adding a separate screen. Non navigation vehicle.

The head unit is the only one that will not accept the Tesla Style upgrade. Best I can figure is that it has to do with the navigation, whereas the other OEM head units were without. I'm trying to wrap my brain around how to get past this issue and came up with either changing out the wiring harness to the harness that would allow the Tesla Style head unit to connect or rerouting the pins on the connectors to match up. Haven't given much thought to it other than getting the model number of my OEM and the model number of an acceptable OEM. The next step is to identify the pins on each OEM version for mapping the reroute. All hands on deck if I'm walking the plank here! Need someone to reel me back in if I'm off course.

I have a 2013 RX450h which for over a year I tried to find in my 1400 page navigation manual how to add the backup grip lines to my backup camera picture. Finally I went to dealership and had technologist try to find it in y car. He finally advised me that I do not have that capability in my software. I told him that I found that hard to believe since it have been on Lexus models for years. He said certian models did not have it but could not tell me why of which models. 1) Has anyone else fould they do not have this feature on 2013 RX450h? 2) Is anyone aware if there is a soft ware patch or upgrade that could add this? 3) Has anyone ever had 2) done and if so did you use the dealership of outside shop?

Just bought a sweet used 2013 ES 300h which I love however the stock stereo is underwhelming. Coming from an '09 Camry Hybrid with a JBL package (which was pretty good, great bass). This is the nicest car I have owned so far and I would like to avoid putting an actual sub and amp in the truck and dicking around with wiring etc. I would like to get alittle more bass out of the system though and hope that this can be done by upgrading the rear deck woofers. Any ideas/ past experiences etc...? Thank you! -
I recently purchased a 2008 ES 350 as a number 2 vehicle. It has the Mark levinson audio system and navigation. I am interested in upgrading both systems to today's abilities, primarily where the system will communicate more efficiently with my phone. I plan to purchase a system and have it installed by a reputable aftermarket shop here in Raleigh. I'm just curious if anyone has done this and what I might be getting into Thxs

I’m new and just purchased a near perfect 2003 SC430 black on black with an unbelievable 200k miles. (I’m 72, my first car was a 1941 Ford wooden station wagon that my grandfather gave me when I turned 16. The driver’s door had severe dry rot where I had to come in through passenger side. I have always been in love with cars since day one and have purchased 15 new cars over 55 years for daily drivers and a number other more classic cars to cruise around in nice weather.) Recently, I decided to sell off my 2 car collection of older classic cars in favor of purchasing a newer technology of classic cars where I could actually have fun driving around with my 5 year old grandson. After researching, I knew I wanted a hardtop convertible that folded in the trunk and out of the 3 or 4 makes and models out there, I easily chose purchasing an Lexus SC430. Because of a spinal cord injury, I can no longer physically work on my own vehicles. I want to update my navigation, add blue tooth, hands free, new sound system and a backup camera. Can anyone refer a national installer of such that could provide me with a quality installation of those components? Thanks!

We loved our 2015 RX350 and just traded for a new 2021 RX350. Wife loved the green color "Nori Green Pearl" and finally found one in her preferred color but it has just about every optional upgrade imaginable. Approaching age 70 and I must admit I am severely technology compromised. Learning how to use and set all the fancy features is driving me crazy. Is there a section here or anywhere that gives a tutorial on all the features? It has a 12.3" Navigation touch screen where all the stuff gets displayed on startup and I feel like I'm in the cockpit of a fighter jet. The heads up display in the windshield takes some getting used to but we have been able to get that mostly adjusted. I am playing now with the Intuitive Parking Assist and Cross Traffic Braking but honestly don't even know what all this is. Apple CarPlay is another of the illusive features and we do have Iphones but hardly do any of the functions they have. I am not yet comfortable messing with the navigation system because if I touch the screen while in the map mode it puts some stupid circle target where I touched and apparently it locks the screen there. I have not figured out how to get the target off once I touch the screen unless I turn the car off and restart. I find some of this stuff a bit frustrating and often very distracting while driving so I play while parked in the driveway and searching through the owner's manual for the answers. Smart Stop Technology, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Pre Collision system with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and the only button I have not yet found is the Ejection Seat. I am sure we will be much happier once we learn all this new to us gadgetry but it sure is very complicated for the moment. I actually made a recommendation to the dealership that they should give a class taught by one of their techno wizards to all new buyers going through all these fancy features. I never thought I would Not like a car because it has too many options and upgrades. -

My wife loves her 2003 Rx300. No other new cars on the market can replace it. Is there a shop that can upgrade the car with today's bells and whistles in electronics, rear camera, navigation, etc? Also need the heater fixed. If there is a place, am sure we will only replace the engine eventually when it finally gives out. No one makes a model similar enough for her to consider purchasing a new car. -
So I have a 2005 lexus gs300 with the ML Navigation system....I am wanting to upgrade my speakers and add a sub and aftermarket amp....i want to keep my stock navigation unit and add a single din stereo to replace the outdated cassette player...is it possible??? Where can I find wire schematics??

Recently purchased '01 LS430....haven't used navigation much but doesn't recognize many of the addresses I have tried (2000 get .1). I have read a little on here about upgrading to gen 4 which is plug and play. I wonder if worth it to upgrade to gen 4 with newest map DVD (appx $325) or just upgrade to latest map for gen 2/3 (appx $75). I understand gen 4 will disable voice commands. Is this just input commands, will Nav still tell you where to turn etc ? Will just affect voice command for Nav only or radio etc ? I also understand there is an over ride feature for when car is moving that may be affected or lost. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated. -

We purchased a GX470 with the Mark Levinson sound system and Navigation package in March for my wife. Her previous car was a LS400 with the Nakamichi system. The Nakamichi blows the Levinson away. Does anyone have any suggestions that might improve the sound of the ML System? I realize that the "sound chamber" for the GX is vastly different than the LS. But the GX sounds muddy with too much bass. Almost all of the front speakers are mounted in the door so it is easy to block them with your leg. The ML system just doesn't have the same "punch" as the Nakamichi. The sound seems to coming out of a hole near the floor board instead of surrounding you with sound. And AM "sports talk" sounds terrible in the GX. My Ford Expedition has better sound than this $2400 upgrade. I get vibration in the door when listening to AM. I will say that the ML system is very good when playing a DVD movie. But I don't do that very often. Does Lexus have any specialists for the sound system? The local dealer has not been much help in this area. One of their suggestions was to "turn down the bass" when I listen to AM. What great advice! Thanks for your help.

On a recent roadtrip, the numero uno Lexus nav system put us on a back road, told us to make a turn, then said "navigation has ended". Wonderful. Got the Nuvi out and made our way to the destination w/o Lexus yaking at us. Called and got a "free" upgrade. I'm wondering if it's hard to install, or just pop in the disk and go. Garmin upgrades are easy, so what's Lexus got in store for me? Thanks.

I have a 2004 RX330 and when I looked at the DVD button on the navigation window it said version .03.1 I would like to upgrade this. 2Questions. Where do I find this slot with the DVD in it exactly. I did lift up the carpet and the two little doors in the back but didn't see anything there and also, when I look at e-bay is it generally ok to buy a used DVD and do I buy one that says 2004 for RX330. I know nothing about cars as you can probably tell. Thanks.

Hello! I have a 2011 ES with the factory radio unit installed. I know that some of the higher trim models come with the navigation and backup camera options and I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade to one of those in mine. I've found used units with the nav/monitor built in, and finding a backup camera to work with it wouldn't be too difficult, but I want to know if it would be as easy as plug and play or if there are additional wire harnesses/accessories due to the navigation. Has anyone else attempted this swap? Any and all comments are appreciated! Cheers!

I was able to purchase an amazing 2002 LS430 in pristine condition with all service records. I have discovered, however, that the navigation DVD was never upgraded. What is the most recent year (LS)navigation DVD that I can buy to replace the one that came originally with the 2002.
