No offense, but the IS rims don't look very natural on the SC. just my opinion.

Does the newer model polypropylene Nak's "plug and play" with the lexus setup?

my 97' owners manual says to use 96 octane when/where possible. But 94 at Sunoco is the best i can get.

I have a 97' 400 with 68,000 miles and the headlights are perfectly clear. I want to know if Lexus fixed this problem before 97' or will i be a victim of the infamous yellow mess. Also, i noticed that my "clear" reverse lamps are kind of goldish looking. I dont know if they came that way or are they susceptible to yellowing as well?

I also get a little cabin heat from time to time.

My rightside door speaker is breaking up. It doesn't seem blow b/c it works fine at lower volumes but it really breaks up under stress. dealer wants almost $300 for just one 4" ! ! ! And i cant seem to find the old Nak's online-----anyone who may have put in aftermarket speakers that is willing to part w/ oem please let me know.

I couldn't figure out how to get the headlight out. I didn't know you have to go through the wheel well. Luckily i have a 6' 5'' friend with lanky fingers. (please don't take this out of context)

I winged it and i was able get the bulbs out with little trouble. I was thrown off at 1st b/c they r kind of hidden. PIAA white LED's went right in and look incredible. Highly recommended to all. B)

1997 sc400-- i've replaced all bulbs except for the parking lights. My OEM repair manual is on the way but i just got the new bulbs today. Which means i cannot wait a few days to put them in ! ! ! any suggestions?

i have recently been getting a light fluttering noise from my center vents. It only happens under braking and its only from 25 mph down to 5 mph. Does yours happen all the time? I havent taken it to the dealer, yet. but it is really starting to get to me.

just curious since it would be a commonly driven domestic vehicle. Does it carry the same prestige that it does here?

I just changed mine on a 97. There are 3 screws on the foglight housing that hold it in. You can feel them by reaching in the inlet beside each of the lights. There is 1 screw on each side of the housing and 1 on top. I think it was a 6mm deep socket that i used. The passenger side is relatively easy but the screws are hiddden so you will be doing it blind. The driver side is a little trickier b/c of the plumbing that blocks the inlet. Taking off a few of the splash guard screws under the bumper helps. It's a pretty easy job and it makes HUGE difference in the lights. I just put Sylvania SilverStars all around. looks great. gl

This guy on ebay sells them for $10. It says that it covers all the models for almost 10 years . Does anyone have it, and if so, is it any good?

I am still very interested in the Injen but i can't find it for a 97' model. All the websites i've been to sell them for 92-95 and 01' and up??? wtf

I was looking at intakes for my 97' sc400 and found that most of the manufactures (AEM, Injen, HKS) were all around $200 +. I found the Injen most eye pleasing but for some reason i can only find it for the 92-95 and 01+ models of the SC400. Anyone knows why this is or any suggestions from experience on what to buy .. let me know .

Today i was driving with the radio off and I heard a weird fluttering noise coming from the engine/firewall area. It only does it during deceleration or braking from about 30 mph to about 5 mph. As the car slows so does the fluttering. It isn't very loud but now that i know it's there i can't stop hearing it. I've only had the car for 2 months now and i never noticed it before. I tried turning the a/c off and that didn't change anything. Everything else on the car is in tip top working order. Any info would help a lot. --geoff--

At what mileage does the p/s pump tend to go and what r some of the signs?

I keep reading about SC300 owners swapping out or upgrading to turbo engines. I have yet to read about someone with a 400 doing so. is there any particulars why the 300 is more common? I've been a 400 owner for a about a month now and im trying to get some ideas for performance uprgrades besides the common normally aspirated engine mods. any info would be appreciated. also, i've been looking for rims but its hard to get a good idea what kind of rims would look good. any pics of rims installed on an SC would be great. --geoff--

1. The radio volume seems to lag behind the actual adjustment of the volume knob? this maybe a dumb queston but i don't know if my radio is messed up or not. 2. When i shift from park to drive.. the rear of the car has a quick drop or lowering feeling to it. it isn't real clunky is just seems like it sinks a little? any responses would be greatly appreciated. --geoff--
