could try cleaning out the maf sensor with some electrical contact cleaner, it usually throws you a code if its not functioning correctly though but id say its worth a try its only about $5 for a can of it at radio shack. Also some people have had good success with sea foam, ive never used it but from what i heard it will clean everything out and improve mpg.

if i were to replace the sub with a new one would you recommend using the factory amp or the amp off my head unit (Peak Power Output - 60 watts x 4 channels RMS, Power Output - 17 watts x 4 channels). right now i have the harness that uses the stock amp with the pre amps with the head unit. the sub doesnt sound very good so im looking into something like this: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_136ZR800CW/JL...-CW.html?tp=111

98 Es @ 186XXX and decided to look into changing the timing belt etc... its a little over do so id like to get it done in the next two weeks or so. First question is what all parts do i need? i know i need the timing belt, water pump and some seals so if someone could throw a full recommended parts list together that'd be great. 2nd does someone have a diy instructions to change everything out. yeah my 98 es does the same thing il have the gas light on the showing under an 8th of a tank and i can only fill up 14-15 gallons

I was looking around for a key less entry for my 98 es i saw at autozone you could order an oem one for around $100 but on ebay i found this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-99-1997-...sQ5fAccessories anyone purchased one of these before? id much rather have this since its smaller than having the key and the remote separately or has anyone purchased something else? any input is appreciated. So how do i run the diagnostics? All i got out of that picture was a wiring diagram

It said somewhere in the manual that it could be a sensor or something il look later to clarify

98 es300 Over the past few weeks the air bag light has been flashing sometimes when i drive. I looked in the manual and it said something about sensors needing to be replaced. Has anyone had this problem before? cost? diy? Heres the light thats flashing:

ok took it to walmart and they acted like they didnt know what a warped rotor was so i went to an auto parts store and bought new rotors/pads. When i took the old pads off the front left ones were on upside down and the rotor was trashed on that side, so im guessing that was a factor in the rotor being warped too. By the way i got wagner thermo quiet pads and wearever rotors since thats all they had left, went to 2 others stores and same thing, the were really cheap so im kinda sketchy about them.

lenore thanks for the site i didnt know you could get brembos for that cheap the only thing is i need them today. Thanks Camlex if walmart doesnt pay for them il go out and buy those, Also anyone dealt with walmart and this has happened? i would like to know if they would replace them for free.

Had new tires put on about 2 months ago at walmart and a few weeks ago I started feelin the effects of the warped rotors now my front left rotor is destroyed . When i looked at the pads before they changed the tires they were fine. Anyone else had this problem with walmart? Im guessing they used a impact and over tightened them. Im gonna take my car to walmart today and see if they will fix it, id rather do it myself though so its done correctly. If walmart doesnt pay/fix it, ive been looking at wagner rotors/pads from autozone, are these any good?

Ok i re grounded everything and the noise actually got louder so. then i was messing around the unplugged the hd radio module and the noise stopped, there is a cable from the back of the HU that plugs into the HD module then the antenna wire plugs into that, one thing i noticed too is there is two antenna wires one is normal size and plugs into the HD module the other hangs there. I tried grounding it and it didnt do anything. So do you think its still alternator noise or is my antenna not grounded correctly?

Hooked up everything last night and just kinda threw it in there so i havent solder it or mounted the hd radio reciever yet. After i turned the car on i get a buzzing noise through the speakers that gets louder when rpms increase only on fm/am, i dont have any buzzing noise when using usb etc... blk_on_blk, I see what your saying by using the factory amp and getting distortion but im running the stock speakers so i don't know if using that amp in the head unit would be to powerful cause i usually replace all the speakers in the car if i use a different amp, but if i do get distortion il probably by pass and wire it my self or buy a filter. As for the antenna thing im guessing you have a power antenna? PlatinumES00 im guessing you had distortion problems/buzzing with the integration harness?

I'm just gonna go ahead and use the factory amp not the one on the head unit since it seems easier since i don't have to solder as much and bypass the factory amp, the head unit has preamp outs on it(RCA female) and the harness has 4 RCA male and 5 other wires. I didn't think i would need any other harness cause the speakers would be connected through the RCA and i have those 5 other wires to solder but again i haven't installed a head unit on a premium sound system before so I really have no idea.

When I bought my Lexus the LCD was screwed up, instead of paying $120 for the new LCD i went ahead and bought this; http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_15481_...n+VM9022HD.html for around $450 after dash kit etc... Ive installed a few AMRs before but not on a premium sound system, i bought this harness http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12706_Metra+70-8112.html. So i was wondering if I need to do anything special besides the basic install/more parts? Thanks

(1998 es 300) Some of the lights for the climate control are burnt out does anyone know if radio shack or an auto parts store would carry these lights b/c the nearest Lexus dealership is about an hour and 30 min from here which is a pretty long drive for a $2 bulb. Thanks
