  1. 1st gen is 89-91 2nd gen is 92-96 mcv10 3rd gen 97-01 mcv20 4th gen 02-05 mcv30
  2. Agreed with the good installer part. I use both mine when needed but the secondary is for a good workign shocksensor which needs a major thump not a loud civic driving by it.
  3. read the faq it is all their already
  4. thank god no one makes them
  5. buy a new set from the dealer then use the old ones for winter
  6. your first post and you didn't read the FAQ before hand a blinking a/c light meand COMPRESSOR LOCK UP
  7. I don't gamble much either , the last answer is better but still just states basic principles not any conclusive research in favour of his beleif. I ment to say "Oxygen sensor " not just oxygen. It is very consistant with everyone who builds race engine works as a technition or anything in the feild of engines lower octane runs hotter . Heat breaks down anything faster . It doesn't matter if it is made for high temps as running it higher just reduces its life. It is easy to prove that anyone with a turbo or superchargers knows that as well. My exhuast temp gauge proves the 200 degree difference. I am willing to be wrong or misinformed with anything , their is nothign bad about being wrong. I am adament in this because i know its effects.
  8. I'll take as much as i can get to save my family and my own lives.
  9. The cap on the rad is not really ment to be removed and it is not a rad cap ,it is just a seal. Their is no thermostatic spring mechanism under it just a rubber seal. but it does need to be pressed down and turned to be removed.
  10. their is atleast 30 threads on this subject including one from a few days ago
  11. The basic rules for any o2 sensor removal is to have a torch handy as they love to weld themselves in the threads. So they need a good bit of heat to remove themselves. Their is a special socket used for removing o2 only. It basically has a slit to allow the wire to hang outside the socket . It is needed since a wrench will never remove it. Spend the money on an oem sensor it costs alot more but lasts longer and is the right length and connectino end. It is alot less hassel.
  12. Oxygen which is degraded faster by higher heat levels. Nothing personal but do some more digging before coming up with a wise crack answer. Know it alls usually really know nothing........
  13. This is one of them just keep hitting the go button and it will cycle through a ton of variations of the banner http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagea...s=6&u_java=true
  14. Their is a google banner for yahoo i think with lots of "kanji". I have japanese text on mine already so i never see the prompt from windows to download the additional fonts and scripts
  15. then you have much to learn chukiechz sorry but because you own a few cars and understand some principles which is great does not mean you understand all of the prinicples as to why it is a problem which is evident by your adament point of it not being related. Why do i KNOW the differences 1 i have read many articles on the effects 2 i am a trained automotive technition 3 i own a buisness catering to luxury modifications and help to prepare race cars( SCCA, grand am cup ) not race them. 4 I have both afr and EGT gauges to monitor the difference in octanes on numerous times jsut to see the effects. 5 the amount of owners running lower octane that require replacment of o2 makes it quite evedient of its problem. You can doubt ,hell you can do as you please it matters nothing to me as i know exactly what i am talking about and am not guessing on any account. I give my engine and computer full control over what it has in place for mapping of the fuel and timing not letting my pocketbook determine its constraints.
  16. It is well known that metra makes the kit but never heard of it being able to accept 2 full din headunits which would be mostly impossible as the lower part where the lower din would be is very shallow .
  17. It is odd for 2 cats to go bad at once unless your engine is burning oil or something else to clog or burn out the cats. Get a compression test and a motorvac first.
  18. Well thank you for the backing up the basic priniciples. I don;t take anything personal , don't worry. I am here to learn and return it.
  19. Get your wheel modified with carbon fibre or wood inlay instead Or else all of your airbags will go dead. Momo made an airbag wheel a few years ago but for legal problems stopped selling it especially since now every system, is slightly different. Besides you SRS system is an accident data logger so it may be illegal to disarm airbags as well as the system the cops can use to decipher an accident
  20. If it is an adjustment only then break the damn thing off and hand it to them saying ,oops it broke ...now change the damn thing.
  21. Octane and o2 have alot more than you seem to understand. Which is why it is no suprise that so many owners using cheaper gas need replacment o2. I don;t care what you belive or think but it is a fact cheaper gas runs hotter. o2 sensor are right at the tip of the combustino chambers and are affected drastically by gas octanes.
  22. SRK i am not suggesting that lower ocatane gas runs hotter i am telling you it is a fact. I would have loved to hear you actual reasoning rather than an opinion. Lower octane = easier to ignite more fuel burnt = hotter combustion temperatures That is why forced inductino engines need a higher octane gas to promote cooler temps by having more unburnt "cool" fuel running through the system and the turbo fins especially. Now if an o2 sensor reacts to heat = resistance over heating it will cause it to fail sooner , just ask all the other people who save enough money by using lower octane gas to pay for the labour of the o2 but not the actual part.
  23. any good tech will have a torch to heat it up to remove it
  24. You have to change your o2 sensor right? And you thought it makes no difference............ As they say pay me now or pay me later
