  1. It's unlikely that the PCS problem and the xenon light problem are related. The xenon light is an "arc light" technology device similar to a fluorescent light - no filament, and somewhat difficult to test. It also employs a ballast type device. The best way to troubleshoot it is to swap the bulb and ballast with the other side that is working. Xenon bulb/ballast problems sometimes manifest as an intermittent or blinking headlight. Any wind noise problem with your car?
  2. I know you could program two different pairs of four on an '06 GS430, but I know my '08 LS won't do it. Guess they figured they were losing too much $$ by not having you vi$it them twice a year. Whit Whit's advice is right on. You might be able to save some money by getting it done some place other than the dealer. The TPMSs were mandated for all US cars beginning in 2008. By now nearly all tire businesses are equipped to do this service. It requires some electronic tools that, (1) capture the sensor IDs from the wheels by placing the tool near the valve stem and, (2) enter the sensor IDs into the car's computer via a direct (wired) connection to the car's data bus. The LS460 system only holds five sensor IDs (four on the ground plus the spare). Jeff
  3. Waaait!! You don't understand what you are doing and you may cause yourself a lot of grief. The accuracy of the TPMS has nothing to do with the "reset" switch. The accuracy is solely dependent on the accuracy of each wheel sensor - there are five (4 on the ground and the spare). The wheel sensors are typically very accurate and each is completely independent of all the others. It is possible that you have some sort of display problem, but that is unlikely. I suggest that you check the accuracy of your hand held tire gauge as that is the most likely source of your problem. The "reset" switch is for establishing a "tire pressure benchmark" in the car's computer that is used to calculate the low-pressure-warning thresholds. The benchmarks for all five tires are established when the "reset" is activated. If you reset the benchmarks improperly you may cause the TPMS to alarm when the tires are not low, or, you may cause the TPMS to fail to properly warn you of a low tire.
  4. I have a 2007. Not sure if they are the same. See if this helps. In your case I think you need to increase the sensitivity. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/4398344-post4.html

  6. I have tried to up the pressure on Lexus to provide a fix for suffering owners by telling our local auto columnist, Terry Box, about the discussion thread on Club Lexus. Here is a link to an article that was in the Dallas Morning News a few weeks ago. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...n1.4bfbb9b.html The discussion thread on Club Lexus is the most compressive collection of information available anywhere on this subject. It is fascinating reading for anyone with an interest in the LS wind noise problem. You should read every page, beginning at page 1 and currently ending at page 32. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls460-ls46...discussion.html
  7. There is probably an easy, inexpensive solution to your problem. Look here: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls460-ls46...cussion-28.html thanks for your reply. two questions.how do you remove the plastic covering without damaging it? and would the dealer perform this fix? The dealers will not do this for you because Lexus has apparently instructed them not to. If you will send me an email at: jmcraney@verizon.net I will be glad to give you some more help including sending you two of the sheet metal patches. This is not a business proposition.

  9. I picked up my LS 460 this after noon after having the TSIB NV009-07 performed which for my Vin# included both front glass replaced with Lamisafe glass. I noticed a significant difference. There is still some slight wind noise at speeds of 65-75 mph, however while at the dealership I test drove a late model 08' which has the lamisafe glass installed from the factory and it too had slight wind noise at the same speed range. Interested to know if anyone else has noticed this as well! Thanks! The "Wind Noise" problem occurs in the 2007 and 2008 LS460s and LS600s. Manifestations range from slight to severe, left or right or bilateral. The cause is a defect associated with the triangle trim at the corners of the windows in the front doors and some gaps under the trim where air gets in. There is an easy, inexpensive DIY fix. You can read about the fix at the link below. The discussion has grown quite long - many pages -but is interesting and informative through out. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352398

  11. If you are having a "Wind Noise" problem with your 07 or 08 LS460/600 there may be a solution for you at: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352398
  12. Is anybody still having a "Wind Noise" problem?
  13. Are you still having a problem with wind noise?
  14. The 08, 460 swb, that I bought in late FEb. does not have the fix on the front, side windows. Do you know if dealerships are routinely replacing LS 460 swb side windows with Lamisafe if they do not have it? Would I be correct in assuming that Lamisafe is not only a better barrier to the sun (esp. UV a&B) but also a stronger barrier against glass breakage? In other regards, my LS is my second and as before, a truly great car. I don't know anything about replacement of windows in the 08s. They did replace the front side windows in my 07s but it didn't help anything with the noise problem.
  15. I have done a DIY wind noise fix to my 2007 LS460. I want to share that information with you. Please look on the other club's site. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352398
