  1. BTW, if you do buy a cluster out of another car, you should be able to take it to a Lexus/Toyota dealership and let them change it and they will document the change and give you a piece of paper saying it was changed and what the mileage was on the original cluster and what the mileage of the new (used) cluster was so that it is documented, it won't hurt your resale value as much. If they say they can't do it call BS on them as I know alot of people in the Subaru groups that has done it before. Kyle
  2. Don't know about the swap, but you have to be careful about the different mileage. If you swap with one you pretty much will loose alot of cash on the resale value. I ran into the same problem when I put a JDM Impreza cluster in my Impreza. The cluster from Japan had 7km on it, imagine me trying to explain how a '99 Impreza from the US only had 7km on it!!! hehehe
  3. You are right as far as I know...
  4. Won't adjust how quick it shifts, just how much power is transfered and probably adjust your stall RPM's...
  5. It just makes for quicker firmer shifts on an automatic. It really dosen't help your speed or anything, but they reduce wear on the tranny specially when you get into higher horsepower applications. As AWJ had said, you can achieve a quicker shift by adjusting the valving in the transmission itself, but most electronic transmisions can just have a wired in kit that allows for the quicker shifts.
  6. Thats a good idea, I will look into wether or not the supra has a shift kit for its auto's...
  7. I have heard of it helping if you are loosing compression or having oil pass your seals... I don't know if it has any adverse effects though.
  8. Unfortunaly this one is on a rebuilt title. '95 with a tad over 100k miles. Decent lookin. Its in Kansas btw. Long !Removed! drive, just depends on how desperate you are. '92 that needs some work, but its a 5spd and would be great for a transplant... Thats about all I can find, I have given up on a good manual, think I will be getting an automatic, I have learned in the past they can save you money when you start making big HP. Nothing like having to replace the clutch and PP due to torque only to break some gears, then upgrade the tranny to snap a half shaft or shell a diffirential.
  9. Hit autotrader, there are two or three up in Oklahoma for sale right now man. If you do a 300 mile search it should cover most of Oklahoma. Kyle
  10. I always heard Tokico's were good for a slight firming, but nothing to serious.
  11. Well could you go in with one that works and seal it with RTV or something to help prevent it from bleeding.
  12. Something interesting to know as a Smoker myself. (I know, I know, we are taboo... lol)
  13. Will the shift kit on the SC400 work on a SC300, they are different trannies right.
  14. What kind of light is used in the display? LED?
  15. That looks sick, I may go with that setup. Real mean looking, anyway you can get some sound clips up??
  16. IS300 Shift Kit And ALSC ALSC I have been able to find stuff about them talking about the shift kits that adjust the automatic shifting electronically. But not much information. What is involve with adusting the valving to get better shifts?
  17. Install the e-manage yourself, it comes with all the instructions you need. Make sure you check: Mohd Parts They almost always have the best prices on the e-manage on the net. Also read the faq if you buy the ignition harness you can usually find unused pins to pull from it and plug into the other harness to control additional injectors if needed. Also get the software its real nice/handy and I would highly suggest the boost sensor, but you don't have to get one if you have a Greddy electronic boost member as its the same sensor as that and you can splice off of it to get boost readings. I run an e-manage setup currently on my Impreza RS-T so if you have any questions I would be more than willing to try and answer them.
  18. Thats too bad, its odd that the aussies were able to get one out and running and we never did. Ohh well, I have a buddy who's brother is over there. I will see if he can ask around for one, I know the IS300 has one, but I don't know if the tranny setup is the same, and for some odd reason I doubt it. Kyle
  19. Hey guys, New to the SC300 scene. Looking to build on an automatic, and was wondering where I could fine an Electronic Shift Kit for the auto's. I know that there was some going around in Australia but I have yet to find a place to buy one. Any suggestions. Thanks for your help. Kyle
