  1. I purchased plans to build a module to plug into the AIT or MAT sensor on my 92 SC400, and i have built the module but cannot locate the sensor, or i think i have but am not sure. It should have only two wires on the plug but could have 4 or more, is it the plug i see going in at a downward angle into the backside of the intake manifold. I'd really like to try out my module today, any help guys???
  2. Did you reset the ECU after your put dumps on it?
  3. If you want more horsepower and an 8 speed, why not drop in the IS-F's engine?? Will it also fit in the engine bay, and how in the world do you get the stick in the place of the auto tranny.
  4. Injen makes and awesome kit, not too pricey. I looked, but they don't show one for a '98 Sorry bro, i dont know of any others who make them, you might have to custom fab

  6. okay to do the headlights, turn ur wheel one direction and remove the two or three screws in the fender well cover, and then reach in and u will find two ten millimeter nuts. remove those, then remove the top ten mm bolt on top of the headlight assembly. then remove all three wires from the headlight. it takes a little work the first time, but just keep moving it back and forth and ur headlamp will come right out. to get to the turnlamps down below, just remove the two screws on the lower side of the fender well cover and reach in and u will find the wire harness attached to the turning lamp. then just take the power wire(find out by using a voltmeter on the wires to determine which one is hot when the turn lights are on) and run it to the hot wire in the headlamps. Voila u now have fog lights...sorta Bro, thanks SO MUCH! lol, i was thinking no one was going to reply, i would have never imagined to dig in the wheel wells to get them out! LoL, i think they would at least help to light up the road even if they made crappy fog lights, its still trick.
  7. Hey guys, tried searching this out but couldnt find it, anyone have tips and guidlines, or suggestions for removing the headlights, and cornering lights? I was also wanting to take the turning lights and wire them into the running lights so that the turning lights come on when you turn the running/headlights on. How do i get to them?? <_<
  8. LoL, same difference Has anyone tried to shift on the go with the SC400's tranny? LoL, i would do the 6speed conversion, but i dont have the money right now. Later on i will.
  9. Have any of you guys tried to shift the SC400's transmission through its lower gears into drive while accelerating?? I know some automatics you can do that when racing and get a harder launch in the lower gears, but can the SC400's handle that, and has anyone tried??
  10. THANKS BUDDY! tons of info
  11. Exhaust pipe diameter on the SC400??? I want to delete everything but the first two cats and put in two flomasters, but before i can do that i need to know what size flowmasters to order. Eventually later in time i want to do a 2JZ swap, lol when i have the money anyways. <_<
  12. Thanks guys, i contacted my local lexus dealer, they said that the SC400 didnt have audible lock until the 94's, that sucks, but he did reccomend a shop i could go to that would wire one in for a few bucks, i might just do that, i'd prob be better off just putting a complete aftermarket system in.
  13. Thats too suspicious, you should always go with your gut feeling, or if he really is telling the truth, test him to see if he is. Tell him you want him to bring the car to a lexus dealer and have a 120point inspection done on it, and if it comes out clean THEN you will buy it for his asking price. Either way, your gut feeling you should always rely on, if you feel like he's lying he probably is. Idk if it helps any but i bought my 1992 SC400 for 6,800 and its absolutely MINT no dent no scratch, factory paint, interior is like factory its so clean, leather is perfect, electronics are perfect, 133,700 miles on it, and runs like a p'ed off lion. lol, there are def better deals out there buddy! ;)
  14. This is my second car, its a 1992 SC400, and this car is ADDICTIVE. Its almost impossible not to want to thrash the accelerator, but the constant reminder of gas prices helps some. ;) Here she is:
  15. Thanks guys, i found the spark plugs today, lol, i was just curious, lexus went out of their way to hide the damn things. My SC400 was a steal at 6,800 and it is in MINT condition! I love this car!!! Now if i can just make the damn thing beep so i know it locked lolol!!
  16. I think for the sake of everyone here like me, an SC400 virgin, it would be very helpful to have a tutorial. Do you have any idea about my remote entry issues?
  17. I am now the proud owner of a mint condition 1992 SC400, but i have two questions, first when i use the locking button on the key, i have to be no more than 2 feet away for it to work, and the horn doesnt give a beep to give you any recognition it locked, why is it doing those things??? Second, I want to check the spark plugs out, and check my cylinder pressure out but i have no idea where the plugs are, they sure arent visible from looking into the engine bay, i dont want to tear all sorts of things off to find them, where are they hiding??? Here is my baby:
